Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
My dogs will no longer accept any treat but these!! That says it all!! I did slightly alter the ingredients, based on their preferences: 3c. wheat flour, 1c. cornmeal (makes for a crunchier biscuit - not just hard *careful, some dogs are sensitive to corn), and veggie broth instead of water.--I had to add to my previous review - I added about 1 1/2 c. water in addition to the broth -this made it thin enough for me to use my cookie press with the filling tip. It sped up the process, lightened up the biscuits, and increased the yield. it's a win/win/win!!

Saffron Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Very flavorful!! Basmati is mandatory. Also, I used ghee instead of the butter. Because I only had ground cloves and cardamom, I used 1/4 tsp. and 1 tsp. respectively. Also, I knew my saffron wasn't very strong so I increased it to 1 1/2 tsp. and added ~ 3/4 tsp. of tumeric as well. This filled my house with a wonderful aroma and it went very well with 'Steamed Lemon Grass Crab Legs' and a nice spinach salad!! Thanks for the recipe!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I accidently left out the molasses and was surprised at how easy the dough was to work with ( I didn't need to chill it). The spice is wonderful without the sometimes overwhelming molasses! Next time I'm going to remember the molasses and compare the two variations!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This is THE peanut butter cookie recipe! If I'm looking to lighten them up I add 1 tsp. baking soda. Also, you can use 1/3 c. plain yogurt and 1 tsp. baking powder as a substitute for the egg. These never last 24 hours in my house!!

Hamburger Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
great comfort food! I only changed things based on what was in my pantry - 1/2 packet hot&spicy taco seasoning, 2c. tomato soup, 2c. veggie broth, carrots, potatoes, onion, 1/2 c. cooked spinach, and a can of kidney beans. You could probably do alot with this!
