Pistachio Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
After many tries I have finally found the remedy for the rise and fall of this recipe! 1 pkg of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix (it's the only one without pudding in the mix! That's crucial!) 1 small pkg of pistachio pudding mix 1/2 cup of sugar 4 eggs 1/2 cup of water 1/2 cup of vegetable oil 1 8 oz. Cup of sour cream 1/2 tsp of almond extract Several drops of green food coloring Mix all ingredients together and pour into greased and floured bundt pan (or the spray with the flour in it) Bake at 350 for 1:05 to 1:10. Came out perfectly! !!!! A huge HIT with the family!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
VERY TASTY AND MOIST! Didn't have a problem AT ALL! Since we didn't want a lot of cookies, we cut the recipe in half serving 36 instead of 72. I went with the other adivsor's on this and added an extra tsp. of baking powder and an extra tsp. of vanilla and we got nothing but headline reviews! We'll be keeping this one, for sure and making again, and again! Thanks!!!

Brunch Egg Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Excellent! I didn't have sweet red pepper, or green onions, so I used a few sprinkles of crushed red pepper flakes, and minced dried onion and it was fabulous!! I've been allergic to eggs all of my life, and have finally overcome that allergy. So, learning how to cook eggs has been a little challanging. Finding this recipe to bake them has made me look like a pro!!

Chili Rick's

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
It was the chocolate that intriqued me. I've never cared for chili, although I've wanted to, I just couldn't find the right combo of ingredients. I made up the whole batch, and then put it in a slow cooker to cook on low all day and it was simply AMAZING!!!! Was SO proud!! Hubby is thawing out the left over's RIGHT NOW for lunch tomorrow!

Apple Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
HHHHMMMMM, they were OK...don't think I'll do em this way again, though. The apples were just "there" in the mix, didn't really have a purpose...this foreign stuff that you couldn't tell what it was, and a bit bland, at that. GREAT concept, though!!

Mushroom Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
For those of you that don't have mushrooms on hand as I didn't, I used cream of mushroom soup after browning the loin in butter and seasoning it and all and it worked out WONDERULLY!! MMMMMMM, SO GOOD! My husband said, this was the ONLY way pork tenderloin should be made! Couldn't add it to my recipe box fast enough!!

Bada Bing Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
AWESOME! I not, only use this for Pork, but for Chicken, as well! It gives such a great flavor and with a lot of juiciness with a touch of spice that my kids don't even complaint about!! They gobble them right down! I haven't had a chance to actually marinate them overnight, I just whip up the ingredients and set the pork chops in it for about 30 minutes & throw them on the grill. It's fantastic as is! One day, I'll try to think ahead of time and try to marinate...if they're awesome like this, I'm sure they'll be unbelievable after sitting in the marinade overnight!

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
VERY GOOD! Had a VERY lemony taste to it, though. I think next time, I may omit the lemons inside the chicken and just baste it with the marinade. That should be enough to get the "lemon" point of the recipe.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
FABULOUS!! With the onions being minced, and hardly noticable, my kids ate it up! We love meatloaf, and now we can have it right when we get home since it cooks all day! This is the ONLY way I'll ever make meatloaf again!!

Fourteen Layer Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Well, I, like others on the board, had an awful time with the icing. A friend had given me a piece of a 24 layer cake that was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So, I assumed, I could give this one a winning try. I tried to follow all of the other member's advice with the icing. And, as other's.....it did not turn out. The cake part was a success, but that icing wouldn't set. I even tried adding a whole bunch of confectioner's sugar....that didn't work.

For the 1st time, my kids eat spinach, and LOVE IT! This dish has become a weekly favorite! And in no time, it's ready!! The red wine gives it such a nice rich, italian flavor...it's bravened me up to start using red wine in other savory dishes!!

Lemon Cake Roll

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
OK, OK...so I read the feedback from others, and yes, I was a little scared to try it for 1st time company, but I did. I used the advice from other members...sift all dry ingredients, watch the cake, carefully, so there's no browning, and I used lemon juice instead of water for the cake mix. It was a SURE HIT! Everyone LOVED it AND I got bragging rights for making my VERY first cake roll!!! I was SO proud! And the cake, especially the filling was great! Both myself and my kids are allergic to egg that isn't baked, so for the filling, I used 2 egg yolks and it came out superb!!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Oh, how tender and EASY this recipe was! I was a little uneasy about using red wine, but a friend told me, whenever something calls for red wine, not to use the cooking wine because of all the added salt. She said just to use regular wine. I had my mom and dad over for dinner that night, since it cooked so much, and everybody just RAVED about it! The flavor and tenderness were unbelievable!! This one's definately going in my recipe box!!
