Pork Chop and Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
Good recipe. I used cream of celery soup mixed with milk. I seasoned with garlic pepper salt. Cooked all of it in an electric fry pot in about 45 minutes, the last 10 minutes uncovered to thicken the sauce.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I've made this twice, in a electric pot. The second time I used ground sausage and it is good both ways. Update- Now that cabbage from the garden is here I've been craving this...making it now with ground beef because it was thawed and the sausage isn't. Still using the electric pot because it makes it fast and easy one pot cooking. I use one can of Rotel chunky, one jar of home canned tomatoes and one can of broth. I use one bag of boil-in-bag rice cut open and dumped in with the rest of the ingredients as the first reviewer stated.

Super Summer Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
Very good to tweak to your own taste and use up veggies from the garden, I even threw in one small squash chopped fine into the mix. No one will know but us. ;) I only added one tablespoon sugar and it really didn't need that.

Awesome Yogurt Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
Just tried making these, uploaded a photo. The dough was hard to handle, think I had too much yogurt. UPDATE: I've got this down for my 2 person household. I use 1 2/3 c Bisquick with one 6oz container of honey yogurt. Stir to combine and then use your hands to knead in because it will seem a little dry. I form into one big ball and when you can do this you know the texture is right. I spray an 8" cast iron skillet with butter spray, pinch off a portion of dough, round it slightly and place in skillet. I yield 5-7 depending on size. I melt 2T of margarine and drizzle over top. I bake @425 (hot as mine will go) in a convection oven for 12-15 minutes. I'm using my store brand (Food Lion) honey yogurt. If using Yoplait you will have to add 1T of milk.

Easy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I rate 4 stars for the easy part and I will probably make again but I will cut back on the shortening, (I used butter flavor Crisco) because I thought they were a tad greasy. They also were not as light as I like. However I found the dough very easy to work with.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Just tried this recipe, very good! I only made half a recipe to use up some left over cooked sweet potato. It is a sticky dough but I just patted it out and scooped with a floured ice cream scoop and plopped it in the pan. Baled @350 for 20 minutes.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
5 stars for the recipe, taste is 4 stars for me but that's just because I don't like beer. I had a bottle of Corona in the fridge that I needed to do something with is why I tried this recipe. The Corona was only 7 oz so I added 5 oz of Sierra Mist. I increased the sugar to 1/3 cup as suggested by other reviewers. I used 2 cups SR flour and 1 cup WW flour with 1 1/2 t baking powder and 1 t salt. I also added 1 t onion powder. I let it rise while the oven was heating and used a basic glass loaf pan with 1/2 stick butter poured over the dough. My very picky 3 year old grandson liked it so I will probably make it again.

The Real Mojito

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Had my first Mohito. Made the mint simple syrup as someone suggested. Used lemon lime sparkling water for this one. For my 2nd I will use club soda to see which I prefer. Having my 2nd one now. I prefer the club soda. I also used the spiced white rum, careful now, it'll sneak up on you. I don't own a muddler so I used a wooden tart form, works pretty well!

French Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
I don't have a bread machine or a K'aid so I used my processor. I was concerned about the lack of kneading time and the dough was sticky for me but it handled fine after the first rise and baked nicely. The problem I had was the bottom did not brown well but that was due to my learning how to bake with a convection oven.

Butternut Squash Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Surprisingly good, who would've thunk it? :) I forgot the thyme and I only have dried so I don't know that it would have made a difference. I did add chopped mushrooms because I had a few I needed to use. When I make it again I will make it with the thyme and without the mushrooms.

Blue Cheese Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I added a small amount of cream cheese to the mixture and did not bother to try to bread them, just topped the mixture with the bread crumbs. Used a mix of green and red peppers. Letmetellya, DO NOT use red! I took a small bite of a red one and thought ok, not too bad.....afterburn from HADES! I handed it over to the hub. He thought he was tough enough. I said watch out for the afterburn, he said it's not bad. I left the room for a moment and when I returned he was blowing like a bull and had tears in his eyes. I was biting my swollen plumped lips to keep from laughing. :)

I really enjoyed this. I 'thinned' the breasts by slicing in half to speed up cooking time. Baked in toaster oven and it turned out good. Served with the Garlic Broccoli from this site and cooked in microwave.

This marinade has a great flavor. I used less soy sauce because I did not have light, and I did not want it to be too salty.

Kae's Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I had trouble with the crust but not due to the recipe, I'm not a natural born baker. But I will use butter next time. I also used left over gravy rather than the milk. I used what veggies I had on hand. Tip: If the pie pan you're using is the same size as a throw-away pie pan, cut out the center and then just lay it on top of the pie to protect the edges. When you're done just save it for future pies.

Great muffins! I added walnuts to the batter and topping. Added cinnamon and nutmeg to batter and left the cinnamon out of the topping. Also added vanilla to batter. Yielded 12 reg and 12 mini muffins for me.
