Tunnel of Fudge Cake IV

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Did not turn out for me but I still give it 5 stars because the fault is mine. I baked it at 325 for 55 minutes and let it cool 1.5 hours. Did not come out of the pan well, large chunks stuck which had to be scooped out. I used the baking spray, should have used my quick release coating mix. I had my doubts that this would turn out well when I took it out of the oven and it cracked and collapsed in the center. I taste tested an edge which was crunchy and tasted like a brownie edge. I don't know that I will attempt this again. If I do I will try the recipe that uses a cake mix. Most of this will be thrown out I'm sure and that is too wasteful of time and ingredients.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
Just made these with the help of my 4 yr old g'son. I already had a recipe for these but the quanity was more than I wanted. Thought I found the recipe here and decided I would be lazy and let this site calculate the reduced measurements. Well, I did not find it here but I did find this one. They are tasty but I will add an egg next time because I think it needs it. For those that cannot have eggs this is for you.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
Made a half batch a few days ago. Took some to work and shared with a co worker. He loved them and went home that day and made his own. My DH also loved them and when I came in from work there were 3 boxes of crackers, a box of Ranch seasoning and two bottles of red pepper flakes... LOL!

Cake Balls

Four stars because they seem to be well liked by others. Not me, too sweet, too messy and I agree with those that said just make cup cakes.

Spicy Glazed Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
I'm giving 5 stars even though I changed it according to reviews and what I had on hand. My version would rate 4 stars. I used chilli powder because I did not have cayenne. I added a dash of paprika, 1/4 t cinnamon, 1/4 t vanilla and 1/2 salt. I used 2 T of water and cooked the 'syrup' in the microwave at 30 sec intervals. I baked in a convection oven @ 300 for 12 min stirring at 6 min. I sprinkled with additional sea salt when done. I'm sure I will make these again but with the cayenne and I will leave out the cinn and vanilla.

Great muffins! I added walnuts to the batter and topping. Added cinnamon and nutmeg to batter and left the cinnamon out of the topping. Also added vanilla to batter. Yielded 12 reg and 12 mini muffins for me.

Kae's Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I had trouble with the crust but not due to the recipe, I'm not a natural born baker. But I will use butter next time. I also used left over gravy rather than the milk. I used what veggies I had on hand. Tip: If the pie pan you're using is the same size as a throw-away pie pan, cut out the center and then just lay it on top of the pie to protect the edges. When you're done just save it for future pies.

Dynamite Bourbon Ribs

This marinade has a great flavor. I used less soy sauce because I did not have light, and I did not want it to be too salty.

Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts

I really enjoyed this. I 'thinned' the breasts by slicing in half to speed up cooking time. Baked in toaster oven and it turned out good. Served with the Garlic Broccoli from this site and cooked in microwave.

Blue Cheese Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I added a small amount of cream cheese to the mixture and did not bother to try to bread them, just topped the mixture with the bread crumbs. Used a mix of green and red peppers. Letmetellya, DO NOT use red! I took a small bite of a red one and thought ok, not too bad.....afterburn from HADES! I handed it over to the hub. He thought he was tough enough. I said watch out for the afterburn, he said it's not bad. I left the room for a moment and when I returned he was blowing like a bull and had tears in his eyes. I was biting my swollen plumped lips to keep from laughing. :)

These pork chops are so juicy and tender. I only marinated for about an hour and used an electric grill as my broiler does not work. Thanks for posting!

Butternut Squash Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Surprisingly good, who would've thunk it? :) I forgot the thyme and I only have dried so I don't know that it would have made a difference. I did add chopped mushrooms because I had a few I needed to use. When I make it again I will make it with the thyme and without the mushrooms.

French Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
I don't have a bread machine or a K'aid so I used my processor. I was concerned about the lack of kneading time and the dough was sticky for me but it handled fine after the first rise and baked nicely. The problem I had was the bottom did not brown well but that was due to my learning how to bake with a convection oven.

The Real Mojito

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Had my first Mohito. Made the mint simple syrup as someone suggested. Used lemon lime sparkling water for this one. For my 2nd I will use club soda to see which I prefer. Having my 2nd one now. I prefer the club soda. I also used the spiced white rum, careful now, it'll sneak up on you. I don't own a muddler so I used a wooden tart form, works pretty well!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
5 stars for the recipe, taste is 4 stars for me but that's just because I don't like beer. I had a bottle of Corona in the fridge that I needed to do something with is why I tried this recipe. The Corona was only 7 oz so I added 5 oz of Sierra Mist. I increased the sugar to 1/3 cup as suggested by other reviewers. I used 2 cups SR flour and 1 cup WW flour with 1 1/2 t baking powder and 1 t salt. I also added 1 t onion powder. I let it rise while the oven was heating and used a basic glass loaf pan with 1/2 stick butter poured over the dough. My very picky 3 year old grandson liked it so I will probably make it again.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Just tried this recipe, very good! I only made half a recipe to use up some left over cooked sweet potato. It is a sticky dough but I just patted it out and scooped with a floured ice cream scoop and plopped it in the pan. Baled @350 for 20 minutes.
