About this Cook
I am a SAHM, a new runner, and a cook always looking for something new and interesting, nutritious and most of all delicious! I have a corn allergy so I am always looking for new things to challenge my self with making.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, I have a passion for baking. I love to cook new things and am always up for a challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother has a recipe for cinnamon buns that are the best ones that I have ever had. before she died she wrote a cookbook and the first recipe in the book was for her cinnamon buns. When I bake them I feel like she is right there with me.
My cooking triumphs
I have been playing around with spaghetti/marinara sauce for years and about a year ago I finally perfected it.
My cooking tragedies
I remember I was about 11 years old and I wanted to make dinner for my mom who was at work. which is something I liked to do and was good at. I was making some sort of chicken dish. but we didn't have the ingredients for the recipe an I remember substituting different things for the ingredients I didn't have. It was the most aweful thing I have ever made. I think that we just ordered pizza or ate PB&J that night!

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs
I make mine using ground pork instead of ground beef, and I just use salt, pepper, onions, minced garlic, regular rice and I use three cans of soup,(has to be Campbell soup tastes so much better!) I usually water down the soup a little. I brown my meat balls first and then add the soup and bake for about an hour at 375C

Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes
The bacon was okay but the rest of the cupcake itself was AMAZING, I have never had a lighter tasting moist homemade cupcake ever, I made them again for my daughters class without the bacon and they all gobbled up the cupcakes. this is my new favorite cake recipe!!!!!!!!

Chicken Paprikash
OMG this was so yummy even my picky 9 1/2 year old gobbled it up! I followed the recipe almost exactly except for a couple of details. In the dumplings I added chicken stock instead of water, and chicken stock instead of water to the chicken. also with the chicken I floured the pieces before adding them to the pan. I will be making this recipe again, and again! Ladies this is not a dish you want to eat when your dieting!
