Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
Fantastic recipe. Wil. Be using this one from now on. The only thing i did different was i slightly flattened the tops with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. They came out perfect.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2014
Exceptionally good muffins but next time i will try a full cup of sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon in the batter because without the topping they are not very flavorful. The topping is what makes these muffins so good. I wouldn't suggest filling the cups to the top because they overflow and the edges burn before the muffins are done.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
Amazing cake. Can be eaten warm with ice cream or with fresh fruit. Doesn't even need a frosting. Some reviews mentioned the cocoa makes it gritty but I disagree. No grittiness. All my coworkers loved it. Would not change a thing on this recipe. It's perfect the way it is!

Pumpkin Pancakes with Nutmeg Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
I'm a huge pumpkin fan so these pancakes were really great however, I added more pumpkin after I made the first batch of pancakes because I didn't feel it had much of a pumpkin flavor. After I added more pumpkin they were wonderful pancakes. Next time I make these I will make sure to use 1/2 cup of pumpkin instead of just a 1/3. Thanks for the great recipe which I will be using every year from now on!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Not a horrible recipe however, I'm used to things being sweet. The crunchy bread topping over the peaches is a great consistency but a little bland for my likeing. If I make this again, I will be sure to add extra sugar and maybe some vanilla. Fairly easy recipe to make though. Perfect recipe for someone not wanting overly sweet cobbler.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Cake looked beautiful when I took it out of the oven. But upon cutting into it, I found it to be extremely greasy and the flavor was not all that great. Did not remind me of a pound cake at all. I would try another recipe before this one.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
I've tried three different brownie recipes from scratch and so far this is the best one I've found. Super fudgy. Not too rich. Great with icecream. Will definitely be making these again and my son thinks they are fabulous!

Homemade Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
Taste ok. Nothing to write home about. Suggest you use a glass and slightly flatten the cookies before baking because they come out pretty thick. Easier to make sandwich cookies out of them when they are flatter. Haven't decided if I'll make them again. But all in all it's an interesting twist on a cake mix.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
This cake is a nice cake for someone not wanting anything too rich. The only thing I did different to this recipe was that instead of mixing the dry ingredients and wet ingredients seperate then adding them together, I just put it all in and mixed it at once because it makes for a moister cake. Just make sure to add the boiling water last no matter how you mix the rest of the ingredients. The cake sticks to the pans pretty good even with shortening and flour so I'll use wax paper to line my pans next time. Darn good cake!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
Fantastic recipe! This isn't just for Zucchini bread though. Instead of Zucchini just add 1/2 cup blueberries and mash into the batter really well then fold in 1 1/2 cups blueberries and it makes fantastic blueberry bread. Or add 2 cups mashed bananas instead and to give it more of a kick add a 1/2 cup chocolate chips. I'm going to try it with pumpkin next. Who knew one recipe could be so versatile!

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
Such a great recipe! This is the first from scratch brownie recipe that I like. I've made it twice now and both times it has turned out great. I would bake it for the full 30 minutes no less no more and it will come out perfectly. I added walnuts to mine and it was wonderful!

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
Here's the scoop people, I have read almost every review on the recipe and the bottom line is, you only need to change one thing. DO NOT BRUSH THE CRUST WITH EGG WHITE!!! It will only cause your crust to burn. As far as the ingredients go, do not change or add anything and bake the pie for exactly 40 minutes in a deep pie dish. I made this recipe twice in the last two weeks. I changed things up such as adding the extra egg yolk and not filling the crust much because people said it boiled over. My first pie was a disaster. It was thin and the crust burned and it was too eggy. The second time it was perfect! Nice and thick, golden brown crust and by not adding the extra egg yolk, it was the perfect color and not too eggy. A deep pie dish is the way to go. Hope you all have as good of luck as I did.

Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
This recipe is fantastic! I never change anything. The flavor is perfect, the texture is perfect and the glaze just makes this one complete cake. As far as it being too sweet..... I'm not sure what everyone is talking about. It's perfect. Not too plain and not too sweet. The only suggestion I have about this recipe if you are making it for the first time, follow the instructions exactly! That includes the baking time. Do not bake any longer than the suggested time otherwise it could come out too dry. And yes you can change the extracts to the flavors you like but it's already perfect the way it is. I've made this cake several times now and I love it more and more each time. My co-workers love it too!
