All American Apple Pie

This is truly the best pie we have ever eaten! It was so fast & so easy to make, but it tasted like a days worth of slaving in the kitchen!

Best No-Bake Cheesecake

This was the best crust we have ever eaten, however, I couldn't get the cake itself to set up. I wonder if it would have set better had I whipped the heavy cream separately or perhaps used cool-whip instead. It had a "foamy" type of texture to it as well. I also added more sugar than the recipe called for. Ah well...practice makes perfect! :-)

Oven Fried Chicken II

I made this the night before with skinless, boneless thigh pieces. We took it cold for a picnic. This was THE BEST oven fried chicken! Everyone was just nuts over it! This will become a regular item on our monthly menu!

Sugar Cookie Glaze

I've always used the egg whites with confectioners sugar to make glaze but I have a severe egg allergy that seems to get worse all the time. This is an EXCELLENT glaze recipe that sets up just the same as the glaze using egg whites and it tastes wonderful! Great allergy alternative!

Banana Cream Pie I

This recipe is a MAJOR HIT! It is SO incredibly easy to make and so quick to disappear once prepared! The pudding recipe alone is a fabulous stand alone dessert! Add 1/2 cup of cocoa to the dry ingredients at first and you have the most mouth watering chocolate pudding! MMMMMM

Yum Yum Cake II

The actual cake part of this recipe was really good but the "glaze" that you pour over it just totally ruined the entire recipe. Everyone in my family agreed that this was just disgusting and the whole cake was tossed in the trash, sadly. I will definately use the cake recipe again but next time...we'll use a nice chocolate buttercream frosting on the top!

No Bake Cookies II

great flavor but I think the butter/sugar/milk mixture needs to boil a bit longer than 1 minute. The cookies are too mushy and don't set up well. That said...no bake cookies are no bake cookies...they rock even if you have to eat them with a spoon! :-)

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

FABULOUS recipe! I used chunky peanut butter and added more PB and less FLOUR as some of the reviewers had suggested. Mine took 14 minutes to bake instead of 10 though. They were just the right amount of crispy and chewy together...and like someone else had said MUCH more peanut buttery tasting once completely cooled and set. AMAZING recipe! Highly recommended!

Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo

I was really impressed with this dish! It had such a true alfredo flavor for something that was not a true high fat alfredo sauce. It was quite simple and quick to make with very little mess. I used frozen broccoli spears and to saute the chicken I used half butter half olive oil for a great burst of flavor! I increased the parmesan to 3/4 cup also. I will definately make this dish again.

Gooey Butter Cake III

I was in a hurry and grabbed this recipe because it was the first on the search list. I wish I had taken my time and looked harder. This was horrible. There's a key ingredient missing in the listing. The cream cheese filling layer is also supposed to have a 1/2 cup of melted butter mixed into it. When I finally found the paula deen recipe I was looking for, I compared them side by side and saw that this was the problem. However, if you CAN get a gooey butter cake recipe right, sprinkle the top with chocolate chips prior to baking and it REALLY adds something to it!

Gingerbread People

Might want to cut back on the baking soda in this recipe. Our gingerbread men swelled up so much their thighs grew together and they all looked like grimace from McD's. They taste fabulous and I had several comments that this was THE best gingerbread cookie ever tasted. If you are just making them for around the house, great recipe...If you are going for presentation they puff up WAY too much! I also found this dough to be WAY difficult to roll out and work with. This was my first time using gingerbread. I usually do sugar cookies. This dough was so sticky and it took a lot of flour to get them rolled and cut.

Beer Batter

This was a HUGE hit with my family!! I battered tilapia in it and fried it. Found after a couple of pieces that the fish needed to be rolled in flour first and then batter otherwise the batter blew off the fish in the fryer. My hubby and kids said it was the best fish I have ever made!
