I'm married and am currently in nursing school. I went from not knowing how to boil water to having to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 10 every day a few years ago to meet the demands of a job. A few years later I discovered how amazing food could taste when I worked in fine dining. Finally I met a friend who is an amazing cook and who inspires me everyday to learn and explore all the wonderful aspects of cooking...
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook comfort food, but at the same time impress my friends and family with a fancy spread. I love vegetables, and have recently been weening myself off of serving meat and taters every night for dinner. I've mastered the art of breakfast, probably because I worked as a breakfast waitress for several years. Let's just say I know my eggs.
My cooking triumphs
I felt really proud of myself the first time I roasted a chicken, made enchiladas and chicken salad with the leftovers, then used the bones to make broth.
My cooking tragedies
Let's just say I've really needed to get in touch with my oven. My husband has had to choke down black food more than once ;-P
