Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
These were the best ribs I have ever had. We didnt boil them and did ours on the grill under low heat. Added 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup margarine, and a tsp of thyme to the sauce. They were amazing!! My husband requested them again for this weekend! :)

Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I thought this was a great recipe. I added 1/4 tsp of salt and 8oz of cream cheese for extra flavor and moisture. The only thing is that it didnt have a whole lot of flavor so I doubled the vanilla and added in a little bit of lemon juice and some shortbread coffee syrup and it came out amazing. I also baked it at 300 so it didnt dry out or bake too fast.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
Ive always bought the prepackaged fondant from the cake supply store and the guy their gave me this recipe. I used it for my last cake and it tastes sooooo much better than the other stuff. It tastes just like chewy marshmallows. And if you get a good enough crumb coat it becomes one with the buttercream and it tastes really yummy together. You can flavor it however you like. I used a bit of coconut oil and it was great with my straw-banana cake. It takes some kneading to get the sugar in but the prepackaged stuff takes some kneading as well so it evens out in the end. Plus compared to the pricey store bought stuff you simply cant go wrong. It literally costs me 75% less and the ingredients are always available. One thing I did change was I only used half of the water and added it to the marshmallows in the microwave and I used white shortening instead of butter. It was super easy!
