About this Cook
Well, I retired in June after teaching elementary physical education for 19 yrs. I would have put some hobbies down but none of the choices was me. I am addicted to fantasy football and have over 20 teams, so that's a big hobby. I love to swim and just be on the water, preferably an inland lake. My husband and I have three grown children and have a brand new baby granddaughter. She is the love of our life.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make bread from scratch. Pies and cakes are fun to make especially for birthdays and special occasions. Basically, I'm just a traditional cook but am branching out into more ethnic cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday cooking is what I really like to do. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are our favorite things to make. We have Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings. On Christmas morning we have Polish sausage for breakfast after opening gifts. Easter is always celebrated with a brunch after church.

Brussels Sprouts with Bacon Dressing
I loved this recipe. It was a great way to fix brussel sprouts. My daughter who doesn't like them really likes this dish.

Broccoli Casserole
I have tried a very similar recipe and it is a family favorite! I leave out the seasoning salt and use Pepperidge farms herb seasoned stuffing mix for the topping. Mix 2 cups of stuffing mix with 1/2 stick melted butter and sprinkle on top. I also don't mix in the cheese but I sprinkle it on top of the unbaked casserole before putting the stuffing mix on top. I use fresh broccoli cooked until crisp tender instead of frozen broccoli. This dish is absolutely amazing!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I made this dish this past weekend. This recipe makes the best pulled pork ever! I shredded it and we ate it on sub buns. Absolutely delicious!!
