Cookies 'n Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2001
I made this cake for several gatherings in recent months and had a huge hit on my hands--I can't serve it without people asking for the recipe! When I'm pinched for time, I substitute canned vanilla frosting, but your version is better!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
Fantastic chicken recipe! I replaced the thyme with oregano, eliminated the white pepper, since I didn't have any, and increased the garlic powder to 2 teaspoons. I also left out the onions--they aren't a favorite around here!! I forgot to start it on time to allow five hours of cooking, but it cooked for three hours on 275 and thirty minutes at 225, and it was moist and delicious. I will definitely make this again!

Chewy Brownie Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
Excellent! I used peanut butter chips rather than chocolate and these were great! Perfectly chewy on the inside, slightly crunchy on the edges. This will be added to my permanent collection!

Noodles Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
The recipe as is deserves about 3.5 stars, it is a bit bland. However, I made some changes that made it excellent! We like extra sauce, so this is what I did. I doubled the heavy cream but kept the butter amount the same. I then added in a few tablespoons of cream cheese. I used 3/4 cup of grated Romano cheese and a large handful of shredded mozzarella to make it creamier. I also added in 2 teaspoons of garlic powder for some additional flavor. I then let that sit on the warmer on my stove and sauteed some chicken in garlic and butter. I served the sauce over fettucine noodles and put the chicken on top of it. Garlic bread on the side completed a fantastic meal!!

Peanut Butter Pie XVIII

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
This pie is great! I made it for Easter and everyone loved it! The only change I made was to use milk instead of half and half, because I forgot to buy it! I will definitely make this again!

Fabulous French Loaves

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
This was wonderful and I will be making it all the time! I made the dough in my bread machine and it came together perfectly--I am far too lazy to make bread by hand!! I followed the recipe with the exception of leaving out the sesame seeds. The texture is perfect, crunchy on the outside, with a soft and tender inside. It goes great with everything, we have eaten it with pasta, I have made po'boys with it, it's even good warm with butter on it for a snack! Very versatile bread that will become part of my permanent rotation!

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
Wonderful! I used all whole wheat flour, replaced sugar with Splenda, I added extra bananas, a bit more applesauce, and about 1 TBSP of oil, for texture. Tastes just as good as the full fat version! Will definitely be making this again!

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
Excellent! Our new favorite marinade. Left out the onions, as they are not a favorite around here. Marinated overnight, then threw the filets on the grill. Perfect!

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
WOW, so very good! First time I ever made pulled pork and it was delish!! I will be making this again for sure! I made a few changes...I did not use the vegetable oil, it seemed unnecessary. I also had only a hot and spicy BBQ sauce in the house, and I didn't want to overwhelm the dish, so I only used half a cup. I also used a whole cup of chicken broth and upped the brown sugar to half a cup. I completely omitted the mustard, as no one in the house likes it, and I don't ever buy it. Small changes, excellent meal! Try it, you won't be sorry!

Angela's Easy Breaded Chicken

I used ranch dressing rather than italian and used garlic and herb bread crumbs. The chicken tasted wonderful and was very moist and tender--no knife required!

Kentucky Pecan Pie

My husband is from the south and pecan pie is one of his down home favorites, and I could never seem to get it quite right, but he loved this!! He shared it with his brother, who agreed that this is one of the better pecan pies I have ever made!

Chocolate Monkey

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2003
Hi all, I didn't rate it, since this is my recipe, but in looking over it, I see there is a typo--it should read creme do cocoa, not cacao--completely different liquors with completely different tastes. Sorry if anyone tried it and it was awful! Although the cacao is coconut flavored, so maybe that would be a good drink as well!!!!

Christian Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
I agree, this sounds really good, but it is confusing. The recipe calls for one packet of soup, but the directions call for two and the almonds are mentioned nowhere. I guess I'll just have to experiment myself, but it would be nice to see it corrected.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This is so good! It's not really like other focaccia bread I've had, so I'm not sure about the name, but the taste is amazing, regardless of what it is called! I made the dough in my bread machine and used 2 TBSP of olive oil, and still had to add a bit of water to get the dough to come together. It rose for about 1 hour, then I pounded it down and placed it on the baking sheet, on top of parchment paper. I spread olive oil on top, then added garlic powder in addition to the cheeses. Then I let it sit out for another 20 minutes. It was SO good! It would be amazing pizza dough, and I am going to try that the next time I make homemade pizza! Try it, you won't be sorry!

Orange Cream Milk Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
Excellent punch! It works great for parties, baby showers, any event! And to answer bobbybaby, the product is actually called sherbet, not sorbet. We don't call sherbet sorbet either and I'm not sure what you are talking about with the "powdered stuff", must be an australian thing! You will find sherbet in the ice cream section of the grocery store. Good luck, it's a great recipe!

Cheese Biscuits I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2001
These were very good and even impressed my husband, who is very picky about the bread he eats. I found that I only needed to bake them for about 8-9 minutes for them to be soft, which is how we like them. I also omitted the parmesan completely and doubled the amount of cheddar. They don't reheat well, so only bake as many as you will need for your meal. I don't think they tasted like Red Lobster's, but they were very good. I'll be serving them again!
