Scrambled Eggs Done Right

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
Did not care for the flavor of the mayo in the eggs.

Beef-Stuffed French Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
What a great recipe, my husband just loved it! I left out the celery, but other than that, made it per the recipe. Easy, tastes great, you can't go wrong! Will definitely be making this often, as my husband continually asks when I'll be making it again!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
What a wonderful pie this is! I made it for Christmas and everyone loved it! I used an oreo cookie crust and added in a bit more peanut butter. I also drizzled chocolate on the top and added chocolate shavings. It is light and fluffy and the taste is outstanding! I finally found the perfect peanut butter pie recipe!

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
This cookie has a five star flavor, however I have to knock it down to four stars due to the baking time frame given. Twelve minutes is too long, the whole first batch was overcooked. I had to make more and bake for ten minutes, then we had a winner! They make big, fluffy, chewy cookies that have a great taste--just keep an eye on them for overbaking!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
Excellent cookies! The only change I made was to use milk chocolate chips rather than semi-sweet. These are exactly how they are described--chewy centers, crisp edges. I got 36 good sized cookies from this recipe, and they baked for 9 minutes on pans lined with parchment paper. What a great recipe!

Yummy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2006
Very good! These are perfectly chewy and have just the right amount of peanut butter. I did not have almond extract and just used extra vanilla extract. Will defintely make these again!

Peanut Butter Pinwheels

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
What a nightmare this recipe was. The dough was extremely soft coming together so it was very difficult to roll up. After it came out of the fridge, with each slice of the knife, the dough crumbled and fell apart. It was impossible to work with. I ended up molding circles with my hands and baking them up. The taste was definitely not good enough to make up for all the effort it was to make these. I will never make these again.

Chewy Brownie Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
Excellent! I used peanut butter chips rather than chocolate and these were great! Perfectly chewy on the inside, slightly crunchy on the edges. This will be added to my permanent collection!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This cookie isn't bad, but I don't really like the way the flavor of the Crisco comes out so strongly in the cookie. Perhaps it needs butter flavored Crisco, rather than the original that I used? They started to harden within 30 minutes of being baked, so they aren't really soft, but they are chewy. Also, I got 45 walnut shaped balls, and the recipe is for 24. I used red and green sugar and only dipped the tops of the cookies. I was looking for some new additions to my Christmas cookie line up, but as is, I wouldn't serve them to guests. I might try these again with some changes to the original recipe.

Cheeseburger Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
This soup was pretty good. I did make a few changes, I sauteed the beef with garlic, worcestershire and dried parsley to give it some flavor. I used shredded sharp cheddar cheese and completely omitted the milk, which left the soup thick and stew-like. I served it with cornbread and we all enjoyed the meal.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
While the chicken was moist and juicy, we did find the flavor to be lacking. This recipe defintely need some tweaking. It really just tasted like it was breaded with bread crumbs. Probably won't try this again.

Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
These cookies were good, but they could have been far better. The dough was extremely crumbly and I think there is too much flour called for in this recipe. I also agree with other reviewers that there is not enough of a peanut butter taste to these cookies. The first batch I made, I rolled into balls, then pushed down with a fork prior to baking. Most of the cookies crumbled and came apart while baking. The second batch I left in balls, then used a fork to push them down after seven minutes of baking, put them back in the oven for 2 more minutes. Much better--no crumbly cookies! I will make this again, but with some modifications.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Marble Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
This cake was very good, everyone who tried it really enjoyed it! One thing, I was well into making the cake and realized I was out of eggs. I subsituted a healthy splash of milk instead and this cake came out wonderfully! I used peanut butter frosting, which was the perfect complement! Will definitely make this one again!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
Fantastic chicken recipe! I replaced the thyme with oregano, eliminated the white pepper, since I didn't have any, and increased the garlic powder to 2 teaspoons. I also left out the onions--they aren't a favorite around here!! I forgot to start it on time to allow five hours of cooking, but it cooked for three hours on 275 and thirty minutes at 225, and it was moist and delicious. I will definitely make this again!

Dad's Kentucky Home Fries

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
Don't know why they are called Kentucky Home Fries, you can get this in any diner in Pennsylvania! But, they are very good, I usually add some garlic powder as well, and at times I use them to make what I call a "Garbage Plate". Scrambled eggs, home fries, cheese, and bacon all mixed together--now that's good!!

Butter Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
We were not impressed with this dish. Preparing it according to the recipe, we didn't like it at all. The onion soup taste was overwhelming and there was so much butter that the meat was greasy. I gave it another chance by preparing it with a brown gravy packet, as some other reviewers recommended and while that was a bit better, we won't be making this one again.

Chicken Provolone

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
I used chicken broth rather than wine to make this kid friendly and my 20 month old loved it! You really couldn't taste the cheese at all, but overall, this wasn't a bad recipe. I think it might also be good with cheddar cheese soup, so you have two cheese chicken--that's what I'll try next time!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
This was great! I did make a few changes though. You definitely need to reduce the amount of butter, as there is far too much called for in this recipe. I added some additional garlic and also used oregano in the butter mixture and I left the egg out altogether. My bread dough did not rise much, even after three hours, but it baked up beautifully anyway. My husband just loved this and now requests it all the time! I used a silicone bundt pan and they turned out great, came right out of the pan! You won't be sorry if you try this one!

Stovetop Yankee Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
I made a few changes, but this was wonderful! First, I seasoned the flour with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders, parsley, and oregano prior to dredging to give the meat some more flavor. I also added some minced garlic to the oil for a few minutes before putting the meat in. Then, I doubled the amount of broth and used 48 ounces of beef gravy in place of the red wine. I also used red potatoes instead of celery. There was enough liquid in the pot to completely cover the entire meal. It simmered for 2.5 hours and it was delicious! The meat just fell apart and the potatoes and carrots had an amazing flavor! I served it with a side of fresh green beans and french bread and this meal just disappeared! This will be added to my permanent cookbook! 5 stars!!

Peanut Butter Pie XVIII

This pie is great! I made it for Easter and everyone loved it! The only change I made was to use milk instead of half and half, because I forgot to buy it! I will definitely make this again!
