French Toast Waffles

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
Well, I don't know that they tasted like French toast, but they were good, nevertheless. I doubled the recipe for my Belgian waffle maker and got 4 waffles with a bit of batter left over. I followed the recipe exactly, other than doubling it. If I made it again, I might add some maple syrup into the batter to see how that turned out.

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Excellent! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I bought thin cutlets, and they worked out great. The only change I made was to lessen the lemon juice in the sauce at the end. I used only 1 tbsp and it was perfect. I'll definitely make this again!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
I didn't see the note about not doubling the recipe, and I did double it. They came out perfectly fine. Maybe they won't hold up during storage, but for now, they are nice and soft, so not sure what that issue is. Anyway, I doubled the recipe, and other than adding in some MM bits, I kept it just the same. Pretty good, nothing spectacular. I'll probably make them again.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Simply delicious! I've never made a cake that called for sour cream before, but it was perfect. Everyone says it was the best cake I ever made. I wouldn't change a thing!

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
Excellent taste! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they weren't very crispy, and we like our waffles crispier. But the taste was phenomenal, and I will surely make these again! The only change I made was to add more cinnamon.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
Delish! My whole family loved these! I did have to freeze the PB part, it was impossible to work with. Once frozen, it worked out fine. I also added a splash of milk to the chocolate part to make it a bit easier to work with. What I did was grab a blob of chocolate and flatten it in my hand, then put the PB in the center and work the chocolate up around it to make a ball. I also rolled them in sugar before putting on the cookie sheet. Flattened them just a bit. Perfect!!! I have to make more, my family really loves them!

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
This is hands down, the single best ham I have ever made in my life. However, it does not taste like Honey Baked...it's better!!! My whole family loved this, it's great! Made it exactly as the recipe called for, no changes needed. Try it, I promise, you won't be sorry!!

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I think it could use more chocolate flavor, but other than that, pretty good. Very moist cake, I iced it with PB frosting, and it held up well.

Supreme Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
Wow, I will never make the boxed scalloped potatoes again!!! I used Yukon Gold potatoes, which I did not shred, but rather sliced. I also changed the chicken soup for cheddar soup and left out the onions completely. I layered the potatoes, sauce mixture, handful of shredded cheddar, until all potatoes were gone. I served this at a dinner party and I had none left..even though I made 5 pounds of potatoes! Everyone went home with the recipe. I will make this over and over again!!

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Fantastic! The only thing I did was leave out the cayenne. Moist, extremely juicy, and had a great taste! Will definitely make this again!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
A great soft bread. I did follow the ingredients exactly, and it turned out very nice. I didn't feel like making crescents, so I rolled it out into one big square and spread the middle with butter, and rolled that up jelly roll style. Then I just put it on a cookie sheet to rise and threw that in the oven to bake. I put three long diagonal slits in the top before putting it in the oven. Turned out really nicely.

Cheddar Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
This was pretty good, but I did make a few minor changes. For one thing, I had no milk powder on hand. So, I replaced the warm water with milk for added flavor. I also added 2 tablespoons of garlic powder for some extra flavor. The dough was not coming together at all, so I had to add quite a bit more milk to get it to work. It did make too much bread for my machine, so it rose over the top, then caved in in the middle, since it had no where to go. I would recommend maybe using the dough cycle only, then finishing the bake in the oven. It had a nice taste to it, and I may experiment with it again. It went great with a hearty bowl of chili!

Onion-Garlic Bubble Bread

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Not bad at all. The recipe does call for way too much butter, I had a lot left over. I also added in some garlic powder for additional flavor. It took about 30 minutes to bake and went well with the pasta I served. I'll probably make it again.

Parmesan Rolls

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
While these rolls do bake up nicely, crusty outside and soft inside, they are extremely bland and lacking in flavor. Sorry, won't be making these again.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This is so good! It's not really like other focaccia bread I've had, so I'm not sure about the name, but the taste is amazing, regardless of what it is called! I made the dough in my bread machine and used 2 TBSP of olive oil, and still had to add a bit of water to get the dough to come together. It rose for about 1 hour, then I pounded it down and placed it on the baking sheet, on top of parchment paper. I spread olive oil on top, then added garlic powder in addition to the cheeses. Then I let it sit out for another 20 minutes. It was SO good! It would be amazing pizza dough, and I am going to try that the next time I make homemade pizza! Try it, you won't be sorry!

Cloverleaf Rolls

These have a nice texture and are very soft on the inside, but the flavor leaves a bit to be desired...they are so bland, there is no taste to them at all. Won't be making these again, sorry.

Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
This has an OK taste, but it is not really a daiquiri. You should replace the lemon lime soda with strawberry daiquiri mix and I would definitely add more fresh strawberries in the recipe. The sugar is not necessary for a daiquiri and should be left out completely and the lemon juice should be replaced with orange juice. You may also want a few more ice cubes to get a daiquiri like consistency. Also, this does not make a very large serving, so you may want to double all ingredients.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
Fantastic! I did make some changes though. I used one packet of Italian dressing, 2 cups beef broth, and 1 cup zesty Italian dressing from Kraft. I also added in some minced garlic and oregano. These were wonderful! I served it on toasted french bread with some of the broth on the side for dipping. We will certainly have this again!!
