Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Delish! I often make fried fish, but was trying to get a bit healthier, so tried this and the whole (very picky) family loved it! Will definitely make it again! After the veggies were done, I stirred them in some rice made with chicken broth for a great side dish!

Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
Excellent! I kept it pretty much the same, just added garlic powder when I salted and peppered, and used shredded mozz instead of sliced. I baked it 30 minutes, then put it in the broiler for a few minutes to crisp it up. Everyone loved it and there were no leftovers. Will surely make it again!

Mocha Liqueur Shake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
The rum ruins this recipe. Use vodka instead, it's so much better! I also use chocolate ice cream for variation, and like to add some chocolate syrup inside the glass before serving. As is, not that great, the rum is the overpowering flavor. But sub vodka, and this is a winner!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Excellent! I didn't change a thing. It rose above my bundt pan, to make a crunchy layer. The inside was moist and perfect! I will surely make this again!

Herbed Batter Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
We didn't like these at all. Extremely heavy and dense, a cross between a biscuit and a muffin. Flavor wasn't that hot either. Won't make them again, sorry.

Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I added 2 cups of beef broth and a handful of carrots to the roasting pan, but other than that, followed the recipe. I had a 2.5 pound roast and it cooked for an hour and a half and was pretty rare. Pretty good, I'll probably make it again.

Good Ol' Alabama Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I personally find this to be toothache inducing sweet. Not so good at all. But, I need to dispute the fact you can't get this up north. I'm from PA and my family makes this ALL the time. I myself do not like it, but it's been a staple at my family reunions since I was a little girl. To make this even remotely appetizing, you need to at **least** half the sugar.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
These taste NOTHING like a Cinnabon. They aren't bad, don't get me wrong, but they are not in Cinnabon's league.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
Sickeningly sweet, almost tooth ache inducing. Wow, I could barely finish a cookie. But, I took them to a pre-school party and the kids really liked them. Though, I'd not want them to have too many, this could cause cavities! The only change I made was to add milk instead of water. They did dry shiny and hard, and dried quickly. They stood up well to color. But, the taste is just not going to work for anyone without a serious sweet tooth. Two stars only because the kids liked them so much.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
First time my sugar cookies have ever turned out! I had been using the Betty Crocker in the pouch, but will now stick with these! Sturdy to stand up to glazing, but also a softer cookie. Everyone really loved them!

Hot Dog a la Potato

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
My husband grew up on these. The first time he asked me to make them for him, I figured it was just one of his mom's oddball recipes, as she is prone to them. Now I see this recipe and I realize she wasn't alone! I personally think it's rather nasty, but hubby sure loves them!

Fairy Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
My son won't eat this as is. But, when I toasted the bread and used peanut butter instead of butter, we had a winner!

Holiday Pumpkin Cake with Rum-Cream Cheese Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
Didn't make the cake, so can't comment, but I did put the glaze on an apple bundt cake and it was delish! I'll try this glaze again for sure!

Toll House® Mini Morsel Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
Delish! Tasted almost like a chocolate chip cookie! I followed the recipe and found that I had more than enough milk, even though other reviewers suggested there wasn't enough. I'd not change a thing!

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
These were just OK. I know muffin batter is thick, but this was entirely too thick to be usable. Half cup of milk is just not enough. I had to add quite a bit more to get to "thick". These just weren't as good as I was expecting them to be. The streusel melted right into the muffins, and there wasn't enough of it. I doubled the mix and could have tripled it. The muffin itself is kind of bland. But they baked up soft and the kids at pre-school really liked them. But, I'll be looking for another recipe to try.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
It has a good taste but I can't get it to a piping consistency, even after sitting in the fridge for a while. I did color it with liquid coloring, but it wasn't pipeable prior to that. I beat the cream to a super thick consistency and it didn't help at all. This really isn't even good for spreading it's so thin. I ended up dipping my cupcakes upside down in the frosting, then sticking them in a bowl of sprinkles to cover up the mess. I'm not sure what happened here, but I don't think I'll be trying this one again.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I increased the cocoa to one cup and decreased the water to 3/4 cup. Otherwise, left everything else the same. It tasted a bit odd the first day, but by day 2, it was pretty good. I used Peanut Butter frosting with it, and everyone seemed to like it.

Quick Angel Hair with Basil Cream for One

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
No one in my family liked this except for my 3 year old son, who 100% cleaned his plate, which is highly unusual. My husband kept complaining it tasted too much like scampi, which he doesn't really like. I just didn't really like the taste too much. Sorry, won't be making this one again.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Excellent chicken! I added more spices to the flour mixture to kick up the flavor. I also subbed Stove Top stuffing for the cereal, I just crushed it up finely. And I used mozz cheese instead of cheddar. Excellent, and we will have it again!

Haddock Au Gratin

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Very good! I used all cheddar, since it's all I had. I also subbed 2% milk for all of the cream to cut the fat. Tasty, flaky, and very good. I'd make it again!
