Beef Burgundy II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
I made this today, exactly by the directions, even though I usually just toss all my stew ingredients in a pot, boil it, and see what happens. I'm so glad I made this pot the right way. I browned all the veggies individually, just like it says, and wow! This is one good stew! I recommend it highly.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
This is a stellar pie! A real masterpiece. I just popped my second one into the oven, using leftover Christmas turkey. This is a firm pie that doesn't lose its shape or run all over the plate when you cut it. And oh my, is it delicious! I don't know where Linda learned to cook, but she's a real master! You should try this recipe.

Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
Made exactly as described, garnished with parsley. First bite was a bit tangy -- used chardonnay wine. Is that why? Also, my partner complained that the sauce was a little "gritty." I didn't think so, and I don't know what would explain this. I would appreiate any thoughts from other reviewers who have tried this one. I thought it was very good but not great.

Tomato Soup Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
I made this for the meticulous Methodists at my church. They're a tough crowd. They figured out the "secret ingredient" right away, and griped a little about the "blonde" raisins that I added. We found the cake a little salty. I will eliminate the salt next time. Very good otherwise, though, and I liked it very much.
