About this Cook
I love to cook! I also make beaded jewelry. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SouthMountBoutique
My favorite things to cook
Osso Buco and mushroom, tomato and asparagus risotto, grilled veges, homemade chicken soup, anything italian american...meatballs, lasagne, pizza, seafoods, anything slow roasted, soups, eggs, fondant cakes, holiday meals
My favorite family cooking traditions
Passover--matzoh ball soup, brisket, kugel, sweet potato casserole, mandel brot
My cooking triumphs
Probably the first time I cooked a turkey and all the fixings for Thanksgiving.
My cooking tragedies
One year for passover I had 20 people over and I made the matzoh balls right before I served them and I did not realize the vege oil was rancid and the matzoh balls were ruined. Big faux pas...I did not taste them before I served them and I finally had a bite and cringed. Some of the people at the table never had them before so they didn't know the difference, but I will never ever serve food to guests again without tasting it first.

Mapled Ham
This maple ham recipe came out fantastic. I followed the recipe to the T and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again.

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole
It was very good and very easy. I used long grain wild rice and the flavor packet that comes with the rice, and added some tomatos and peas and some spieces, and a little bit of tomato sauce, and a little more milk until the rice finally cooked. My husband loved it.
