Daddy's Chilli

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
This is the chilli Daddy is famous for, I'd say it's pretty good! Okay, only famous among the few who have tried it, but all of them love it.

Pikelets (Scottish Pancakes)

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
These were good, if you like sweet, eggy, and somewhat tasteless pancakes. The recipe is very nice and simple if you follow it. I didn't, I automatically started beating the eggs before looking at the directions, oops, they ended up lumpy. Anyway, the directions are good and I think cutting the sugar in half would improve them greatly. I give it 4 stars for a good recipe in theory, written well, accurate picture, good description, and potentially tasty results.

HD's Caramel Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
These are good. They must be stored in the fridge . If you leave them out for too long they get mushy, but popping them in the fridge for a few minutes hardens them. They would be good without the chocolate as well, I think. If any of you figure out how to make them healthier please tell me! This doubles very easily. Add more or less chocolate according to your taste.

Most basic granola

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I think that it is important to understand what is necessary in a certain food, rather what makes it taste better. If I don't know whether or not something in a recipe is needed to make it work, I have trouble adjusting it to make it cheaper/healthier. Therefore, I want to make more of these so people (including myself) can basically write our own recipes based on the source recipes that I give you. :)

Meatball Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This was great! I can't say that it will be great if you follow the recipe, because I didn't. I did the recipe times 4 with these changes: Instead of meatballs, One cubed, seasand, and cooked chicken breast. Instead of barley, rice, and elbows, one pound of elbows. Instead of Italian seasoning and mushrooms, lots of random seasonings. And I skipped the parmesan. We loved it, and I will definitely be making this again. I served it with tuna sandwiches.

This was my first white sauce, the recipe was so easy that after the first time I made it from memory! I added sausage once, that was really, really good! I am always looking for good ways to use the potato and this helped. thank you very much!

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
One of our family favorites! We love this! It is so simple and yet has the spice that we all love. I often use dried beans and prepared chicken bullion to make it less expensive. Good recipe! Thank you!

Scottish Oat Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I love this recipe! My family had eaten it 5 days a week, for six weeks without getting tired of it! I did use these substitutes at times: wheat flour, choc. chips, criasins, raisins, butter flavored shortening (sub. for butter), and banana (sub. for eggs). I always doubled the recipe. This will always be a favorite, thank you so much for this recipe!
