Addicting Chip Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
I made this and took the advice of other reviewers and added the green onion and fresh minced garlic. After letting the flavors meld for 2 hrs, it was great!! Served it with crackers. For those that find this bland, put spices in that you would like, I happen to love cream cheese so this was perfect for me, if you arent a fan, try less or add more garlic etc but be sure to let the flavors "marry" for a bit in the fridge. Will be making this again over and over. Thank you for sharing the recipe!!

Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Very good, however i did make some changes but wanted to try kale for the first time and absolutely loved it. I did a lower fat version using Turkey smoked sausage which i sauteed with onion until the onion was soft, then added the potatoes. I added enough chicken broth to cover, added salt, pepper and garlic powder. Boiled for 10-15 min and then lowered heat and added the kale and let it simmer until the kale was soft. My picky nephew even gobbled this up!!!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
These are great, I use green onion instead of regular and Monterey Jack/Colby cheese mix instead of swiss. When I want this in a hurry, I make a pizza out of them by placing the biscuits together on my pizza stone and then pour the ingrediants on top and bake as required for the biscuits and then just slice and serve. Ideal for breakfast.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
This is very good, the only different thing I did, was used one whole bunch of fresh thyme (tied with kitchen string) and 1 large bay leaf ( cause bay is strong to me) I used 4 bone in ribs and the rest were boneless/fatless beef ribs...turned out great, even my pickest of pickest nephew ate seconds!!! So thank you!!

Indian Relish

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Fantastic!! Reduced the vinegar and sugar to 3/4 cup as suggested by other reviewers and cooked for 45 min instead of 30 to thicken it, after it was refrigerated for 4 hours it was a perfect relish!!! Served this with cream cheese and crackers and have topped burgers with it! Outstanding!!!!

Brazilian Fish Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
This is a really good stew. The only change I made was that I used Spice Island's Spicy curry powder instead of cumin, I know that takes away the Brazilian aspect but I love it with coconut milk. I marinated the fish for about an hour while I cooked the onions and bell pepper ( I used sweet baby bell peppers), then added spicy diced tomatoes and coconut milk ( I used 2 cans of milk) I boiled that until the flavors started coming together and added a little water just because I love lots of broth. I then added the fish and let it simmer, adding a little more salt and curry powder. My sister who hates fish in any kind of soups said this was very good and would eat it again!! Thank you for the recipe!!

Best Potatoes Ever!

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
I just made these and all I can say is "wow"!! They are so good, I didn't have any chilies so I just left them out and with the chili powder, they were spicy enough for me but I will make them again with the green chilies and I am sure they will be great!! Thank you so much for this recipe, its a keeper!!

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
This is a great recipe and so easy. I had to drain some of the grease due to my sausage brand made a lot but I added the margarine and a little more than the 1/4 cup flour, I cook it for a few minutes and then added 3 cups milks and brought it to a slight boil, stirring constantly and then lowered my heat. It thickened perfectly. It was outstanding!! Thank you for this recipe, it will be one I use from now on...

Cornbread Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2013
I wanted to try this recipe and after reading some of the reviews, this is what did and it turned out pretty good....I used two 6 oz. packages of Shawnee Mill Buttermilk Cornbread since its not a sweet cornbread and added 1- 12 oz. can of evaporated milk ( I was out of regular milk) 1 -15 oz. can of regular corn, about 3 tablespoons of minced jarred jalapenos and a handful of Monterey jack/Colby cheese and mixed, poured half in my 9 by 9 baking dish, I cooked the pork sausage with onion until cooked through and soft, then added a 4oz. can of diced green chilies and cooked 5 min, let the mixture cool and added it to the dish and added another handful of cheese, topped it with the remaining cornbread mixture and baked it 40 min....turned out great, not too spicy but with good flavor. Will make this again!
