Blueberry Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
For a simple crust try 2 cups of flour, a pinch of salt, and a cup of vegetable shortening and also a 1/2 cup of cold water. Mix together until thoroughly blended. Cut dough in half and roll into balls, wrap in wax paper and refridgerate for 4 hours or more. I used 1 lbs of cherries and exactly 12oz of large organic blueberries. For the Filling, instead of cinnamon, 3/4 tsp of almond extact really brings out the flavor of the of fruits. You could use flour in the filling but 3 tbls of corn starch is enough. Add a cup of sugar and a tbls of butter. that's all you need for the filling. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly . Once the mix has thickened and become translucent, let simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Apple Harvest Pound Cake with Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Ahhh, this cake tastes really good, it's really sweet though. I'm making this cake for my girlfriend's birthday and this was trial run since she's out of town. The only thing I did different was use a 10in Bundt pan instead of a nine. Also I baked at 325 for 70 minutes like some of the other reviwers suggested although I don't think 10 more minutes would have made to much of a difference, but maybe so. I got excited and flipped the pan to early so it fell apart a little but it's still somewhat entact. Good lookin cake and a good recipe.

Melissa's Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
I followed the recipe mostly, only I didn't top the loaf with tomato. I used 6oz of canned yams, mixed them with the turkey. Didn't use milk either.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Good recipe. In addition to everything in the recipe, I used; whole wheat pitas and chopped romain, cucumber and tomato. Tasted like a falafe, from Iraq. The only ingridient I omitted was the lemon juice.
