Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Very good. I added the extra egg like suggested in comments, and cut the cumin to 1 tsp. I also added about 2-3 tbsp extra bread crumbs because of the additional egg. Next time I would intentionally let the mixture set for 10-15 minutes fefore cooking to let it become easier to work with. The last few I made were much better than the first. Also I wanted to grill them, so I started them in a pan on the stove so they would set and not fall through the grill. :) Worked wonderfully. The beans I used were Blue Runner Creole Cream-style Black Beans (my new favorite canned beans!) OMG they are so good! A single recipe made 8 smaller burgers.

Porotos Granados (Chilean Bean Stew)

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Very nice stew! I have made this as-written, and again with the variation suggested in the reviews, and it just keeps getting better! My dad is Chilean so it is fun to make this for the family. Thanks!

This came out wonderful. I love savory breakfasts and this really hits the spot! I multiplied by about 10 and used 36 eggs. Our staff really enjoyed it. Thank you!

Added extra banana and made into muffins. Made a double batch for brunch and everyone LOVED these. Quick and easy to put together too.

Bread Machine Challah for Shabbat and Festivals

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Came out very good. I topped the challah with poppy seeds (my fave, over sesame). I had to add almost 2 cups more flour than is written, I have no clue why.

New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
Very good. A nice spicy bite, not overpowering at all. I cut the butter down to about 1/4 (1 oz), substituted imitation crab for the shrimp, and went with ginger ale instead of beer.

No-Mayonnaise Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This recipe is exactly what I was looking for! Even with full-fat sour cream the calorie count is very low for a salad dressing. I did not have the dried chives, I will get some and try it again. Also IMO is needs more salt. I thought 1/8 t seemed a bit low, but I left it since I like to make things the way it is written the first time I make it to have a reference point to go by in the future. Other than the salt issue (easily fixed) the flavor is very good! Thank you!
