About this Cook
I'm a follower of Christ, blessed with an awesome hubby, four kiddos, and wonderful family and friends. After uprooting our family from the Mainland to the Islands, I'm finding myself on a culinary adventure of sorts.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking all kinds of food and baking all kinds of desserts. My favorite recipes are the ones that are easy to duplicate AND make your own. I always give credit where credit is due. And I LOVE Rachael Ray.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love watching my mom and mother-in-law cook. They won't let me lend a hand, but being in the kitchen with them and enjoying the wonderful aromas feels like home. Hopefully, my own kiddos will want to be in the kitchen with me, but I WILL make them do something.
My cooking triumphs
I made my first Kalua Turkey this Thanksgving! When I find the correct amount of time and temperature to roast it, I will post it here.
My cooking tragedies
I can NOT for the life of me make lemon bars or popovers. Tried several different recipes of each, to no avail! I'm not discouraged though, one day, I WILL make these two items and people will actually eat them!!!

Banana Banana Bread
This recipe was super easy and VERY yummy! I used 6 medium bananas, baked in two 9x3 pans at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They came out perfectly moist and delicious. Thanks!!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
This was DELICIOUS! I will definitely be making this again. A few changes I made were ketchup for tomato paste, no hot sauce, soy sauce for worcestershire, 1/4 c brown sugar and 1/4 c ketchup for topping. And I used a 12 cup muffin tin at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. I served with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. My whole family loved it. Thanks!

Shepherd's Pie
This was such a tasty dish and so easy to make too! The only changes I made were using ground turkey and not putting so much condensed soup, just enough to make it moist. I also omitted the ketchup because I wasn't sure how well it would go with turkey meat. But this is definitely a keeper. Thanks!!
