Shoo Fly Pie
Always in the kitchen.
About this Cook
First thing I ever remember cooking, was my mother standing me on a chair at the age of 4 letting me make my own scrambled eggs. Its the only way so she says that I would eat eggs for her, guess I was born to be a chef. To me it is an art form not a chore.
My favorite things to cook
Everything, you take me to a restaurant and say taste this dish. Put the fork to my mouth and put it in, I can tell you every ingredient, as well as how it was prepared. Then give me a few days to acquire ingredients I need and I will create the same exact dish for you at home, of course with my own personal flair.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Keeping the spirits of my grandmothers alive threw making dishes that were only passed down to me. I know they are proud of my cooking and baking accomplishments. And I still love them both dearly!!
My cooking triumphs
Have the ability to turn nothing into something, had more than one good friend say that I am the only person they know that can open a refrigerator and find eggs pickles, mustard, and create a meal. Once having a friend over for dinner they looked at me and said "Don't you make anything that sucks?" Well I took that as a great compliment.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can think of at the moment, accept one time spending 5 hours making a homemade honey lemon baklava for a friends B-Day and as I was trying to carry it to my jeep along came a cold BLAST of wind and there went my baklava all over the sidewalk, broke my heart but saved what I could. Besides a very small piece of stone could of been mistaken as a piece of walnut shell,,,,,,,LOL!

My Grandma's Shoo-Fly Pie
Well being a PA. Boy and having an Amish Grandmother, I have my own handed down version but thought I would try another recipe. Sorry to report this was a far cry from the rich sweet dark shoo fly pie I grew up with. No offense I think I will stay with my handed down recipe. Much more authentic.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs
These were a real different twist to my traditional deviled eggs, but I did enjoy them quite a bit! Of course I had to add a bit more Bacon, and grated cheese. Try it you'll enjoy it!
