Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
I did really like these muffins however for the time and ingredients involved, if I'm craving something cinnamon-y, I'll make cinnamon rolls in my breadmaker or go to my local donut shop. For the amount of butter and sugar I used, I could have made an entire pan of cinnamon rolls. Overall, they were very good. They were just a little too time consuming for my liking.

Bacon Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
I made this recipe but used pancetta instead of bacon. I also cooked it stove top in my fritatta pan from Williams Sonoma. So deliciously wonderful! It has a nice golden brown crust and was really fluffy inside. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I made these just as the recipe calls for and they came out very dense and gummy. They're almost inedible. It's not often that I'm disappointed with such highly rated recipes but this one was definitely a let down.

Fudgy Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Amazing recipe! I took other reviewers' suggestions and used 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp of baking powder, 3/4 tsp of salt, and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. I've also used a mix of white, milk, and semi-sweet chocolate chips to add up to one cup. Delicious!!! These are so incredible day after day heated up.

Crusty French Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
I've adapted this for my bread machine. I subtracted about 1/4 cup of flour so that the dough is just slightly wet and sticky. After the machine ran its 90 minute dough cycle, I still went through the two additional rising times in this recipe. This is the BEST French bread I've made - and I've tried a lot of recipes on allrecipes.com.

French Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I made this and let my stand mixer do the kneeding. It worked out beautifully! I did add a little more salt and 2 tbsp of melted butter when it was mixing. It's a little more dense than French bread I like to get in the bakery of the grocery store but still very delicious!

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I've made this seversal times and it has always come out very good. I substituted chicken broth for the bullion and water. Also, I used a couple sprigs of fresh thyme instead of the rosemary and it was wonderful!!!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
Good flavor. They definitely need more oil and need to be watched closely. I turned mine at 20 minutes and lowered the temp to 400. After 30 minutes of baking most were overcooked. I will try them again but will watch them more closely.

Rosemary French Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
To me, this bread has the consistency of a foccia than a French bread. Use fresh rosemary (3x as much as dry) and fresh garlic. When hot, drizzle with olive oil and lightly salt with kosher salt. So delicious!

Easy Chocolate Crackled Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Very good and easy to make. I used canola oil instead of shortening and they were perfect! They got a little thick when mixing them with a hand mixer. I added one tbsp. of water. Also, next time I'll use my stand mixer since it's got a little more power. Overall, these remind me of cookies I use to make with my grandma. I will definitely make these over and over again.

Restaurant-Style Cheesy Poblano Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I doubled this recipe and it made enough for my husband and I to have lunches for three days. Next time I will make four times what it calls for. I used 1% milk instead of the half and half. Also, I pureed the soup once it was done to make it less chunky. We omitted the chicken. It is just wonderful!!!

Beer Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Being a Texas gal, I had to use Shiner Light. The pancakes were great. I doubled the recipe (4 servings) but used only a 12 oz. bottle of beer. The consistency was perfect.

Cinnamon Twists

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Very good recipe. I made these using the dough setting on my bread machine. I would agree that the dough needs a little something. I mixed 2 cups powdered sugar, ¼ cup milk, and ¼ tsp vanilla extract. This made a wonderful, light icing. This is a recipe I will definitely try again.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I made this pizza, just as the recipe instructed and it came out wonderful. The dough is light and airy. All around very delicious!!! I’m excited to try this with different types of beer. I poured the beer into a measuring cup, let it sit while I gathered the other ingredients, and put it into the bread machine. It was not flat. The dough still came out great.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I used half the butter this recipe called for and completely forgot the garlic. Just salt and pepper worked very well. This seems like it will be a good recipe to try with different spices.

Best Spanish Rice

This rice recipe is very good and versatile. The rice takes on the flavor of the salsa you choose. We used a chipotle salsa that's local here to Texas. Wow! So delicious!!!
