Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
Not a bad taste, but not as tender as some of the recipes I have tried. I omitted the celery, as I hate the taste of it, and did not miss it at all.

Cherry Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This had a great taste. I did change the cherry to cranberry due to personal taste preference.

Soft Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
These most def. need more ginger. I even added a little more, but it still was not enough. I will try again and add maybe 2 tsp or more. Made lots of cookies!

Freda's Cherry Supreme Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I enjoyed this and made as written, except did not add the nuts due to people who are allergic. I might try it w/ a different flavor such as strawberry pie filling next time.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I have a really hard time making biscuits, but did better w/ these than most. Mine fell apart when you opened them, not sure why. Flavor was good.

Japanese Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
I thought the sauce was a little strong and would cut back some on the soy sauce. I added a frozen bag of stir fry veggies and it was nice.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
This was my first try at making apple butter and this did really well. It was easy to fix and I seasoned it to my taste. I started with one cup of white sugar and one cup of brown sugar. After it cooked all night, I added one more cup of white sugar. I used cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger since that is what I had as far as spices. I am going to try it again soon!

Cranberry Swirl Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Not too sweet and was extremely moist. I added the orange juice and XXX sugar glaze suggested by another, but think it needed a little more orange flavor to that. Cake itself was good.

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Fixed as called for w/ legs. Was not as crispy as I would have liked, but I did remove the skin first so that may have made a difference.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This was not too bad. My husband did not like, but said he was not a fan of soggy bread (dipping in the juice). Easy to fix.

Caramel Frosting IV

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
I fixed as listed but added 1 tsp. vanilla. I used all 3 cups of sifted XXX sugar, but this was WAY too sweet. I have an extreme sweet tooth, but it was too much for even me. I would cut the XXX down by at least a cup if not a cup and a half. It did not spread like I would want so if you want more of a frosting, you might need to work on the consistency of it. The frosting started to get hard on me about 2/3 of the way through. It has a great taste, but is really sweet.

Honey Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
I used beef ribs and mustard (since I had no honey mustard). I did not add the extra maple syrup since I did not have this either. Thought they tasted great and were falling off the bone. Took the suggestion of others and put some Honey BBQ sauce on them and baked in the oven for a few minutes.

Vivian's Delight

I love this! Made it w/ the strawberry jello, and used low fat cottage cheese and whipped cream. Can't wait to try it with a different kind of jello!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
Enjoyed this but did make a few subs. I had only yellow onions, chicken broth, and used ginger ale instead of white wine. Tasted fine w/ the subs. Will fix again.

Roast Beef with Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Okay, but prefer the beef in crock pot, much more moist. Onions did not caramelize, but were flavorful in bottom of pan.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Not bad, I did not have marjoram or dill so I left those out. I did not like the thyme flavor either, but hubby loved these. Easy to fix.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
Wonderful sauce. This was my first time actually making a sauce. I only had diced tomatoes and tomato sauce on hand, so that is what I used. I did not use as much onion and pepper as called for. Ended up cooking this in the crock pot for 5+ hours since I had to leave. It was great! Will fix again.

Very good flavor. I only had molasses on hand so I used it instead of maple syrup. Will fix again.

Cranberry Pot Roast

This one is a great hit with my family. I have given out the recipe many times. I don't usually add the onion per my taste and it is wonderful.
