Spaghetti Sauce III

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
I added a little sugar to sweeten this some. Otherwise pretty much followed the recipe except only used a 1/2 pound of beef. Nice, thick sauce.

Slow-Cooker Lasagne

Easy to make. I used turkey burger and you really could not tell the difference. I am not a big lasagne fan, but the hubby loved it.

Traveling Oven-Barbecued Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
I used baby back ribs and cooked for about 7 hours in the slow cooker. They were easy to make and I thought the sauce had a nice flavor. I did have a lot of sauce left in the crock pot. Next time I may stick them on the grill or in the oven on broil for a few minutes to bake the sauce.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Very good! I did not have allspice, so added a little nutmeg instead. I did add a little more sugar, but my apples were green and more sour.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
This was okay, personally I just do not like the onion soup mix. I had a 1/2 pack and only used that much but could still taste it. Will try to find a sub next time for it or just leave it out.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
Oh my, this is wonderful! Very, very sweet. I added probably another Tablespoon of the evap milk to get the frosting to the consistency that I wanted. It was just barely enough to frost two loaf cakes (middles too).

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
I fixed these on the grill and they were awesome. Next time I will add more onions as their flavor was really, really good. I did not have dry mustard so used French's instead and it tasted fine.

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
This was my first time making egg custard and it worked well and tasted great. I made it for Father's Day as this is one of my Dad's favs. He NEVER says anything is good, but did say this was!! I did not scald the milk, but used it cold and used a combo of evaporated milk and 2% and it was fine. I added what it called for on the sugar and did not think it was too sweet. I did bake it longer than called for since at 30 minutes it was still really runny. Ended up probably baking it 400 degrees for 50 min to 1 hour.

Slow Cooked Barbecue Beer Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I made this as written, but when it was time to shred the roast, I just took my forks and did this, did not put in a blender. I did make some additions to the sauce as I heated it on the stove by adding some sugar and salt, but it still tasted like it needed something.

Quick and easy. I cooked the potatoes in the microwave for a few minutes before cutting them. Also added a little garlic powder to them. They were yummy with ranch dressing.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
Delicious! I used double stuffed oreos since I had those. Mine were sticky, so I put in the freezer for a while before making the balls. I, personally, have difficulty when dipping into the chocolate so mine were not "pretty" but still taste great. Can be a little time consuming, but worth the effort.

Easy and quick. I did use cream of chicken soup instead as I hate celery and crushed Ritz crackers for the top.
