Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Very good minestrone. A great basic recipe. As many of the reviewers- I substituted some of the veggies- I used fresh green beans, purple swiss chard along with the carrots and zucchini. (More prep time) My husband who's very picky about soups, he likes, gave it a positive review. This is a "keeper" recipe- so healthy and perfect for cold winter days.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Finally! Am so happy- have tried several recipes unsuccessfully to duplicate restaurant style Marsala sauce for chicken or veal and Voila! This is it. Easy to make. This will be one of my "go to" recipes for company. Thank you Lisa.

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
A nice variation for a pasta salad and so easy to make. This is always a hit. Whenever I serve it am always asked for the recipe. I did make a few changes- I don't really like cucumbers so omitted them, used grape tomatoes as another reviewer suggested- so easy. Also used Greek Kalamata olives instead of black olives. Can't go wrong with this salad

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Made this for a bridal shower brunch. Didn't change a thing. Everyone loved it and had so many requests for the recipe. Loved the fact it could be prepared the evening before and just put in the oven in the morning. This is a can't miss yummy brunch recipe.

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
This looks impressive when served in a trifle dish. I made it for an Italian themed party and it was enjoyed by all. As some other reviewers I used Bailey's instead of the chocolate syrup. A good dessert.

Down Under Lemon Tart

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Absolutely delish. Made this for a special even and it was a hit. My only complaint was the crust was time consuming as it needs to go in the freezer for a while but it's worth the time. I topped mine with strawberries instead of raspberries. This recipe is a keeper.

Strawberry Lemon Trifle

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Ingredients sounded good, liked the idea of lower calorie ingredients but this recipe does not have it. It also lacks much flavor.

Lemon Posset

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
Delicious! I Love a simple 3 ingredient recipe and it was so easy to prepare. Have made this for several events and it's always a hit. If you like lemon you can't miss with this recipe. Be sure to include the lemon rind suggested by several reviewers.

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This recipe was a total disappointment. I can't believe it had so many 5 star reviews. I served it for a family gathering and politely no one commented on it. The cinnamon was too strong- 1 TB is way too much and I like spicy. I would never make this again.

Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
As other reviewers I was hesitant about adding the pepper but all the ingredients blended well. I served the strawberries over vanilla ice cream and it was a hit. My husband kept going back for more. This recipe was so easy and is a real keeper.
