Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
The base sauce for this recipe is perfect. You can add or omit items as your family prefers. I do not add onion as most of my kids do not care for them. But, this recipe is great even so.

Butter Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
This was not a favorite for us. However, we are not used to eating meatless burgers. Also, I thought it had a better flavor before cooking. My daughters liked it ok. But I found that the largest problem was the difficulty of keeping the mixture together, particularly while flipping. I was careful, so they did not fall apart completely, but it wasn't easy.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
This was an excellent salisbury steak recipe. They came out perfect without changing anything in the recipe. On a personal note, the gravy was not a favorite for me. It was very good, but the ketchup/worstishire sauce taste was strong. I will definitely keep the salisbury steak recipe, but I might try to tweek the gravy.

The Best Chocolate Cake You Ever Ate

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This was a hit! Everyone loved it. I followed the recipe exactly the first time to get a good feel of how the base flavor tasted. The cinnamon gave it a very interesting/good kick of flavor. I may try this recipe without the cinnamon once to taste it without. I did make one change. All of my chocolate baked goods recipes, I substitute cold coffee for the liquid. So, for the 1 cup of water, I added 1 cup of cold coffee instead. It brings out even more chocolate flavor. This recipe is a keeper.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
This was great! I had never made prime rib before because that cut of meat is so expensive and I didn't want to waste it. I didn't change anything in the marinade/recipe. I made it for my parents 40th anniversary surprise dinner. Everyone ate and loved it, even the kids!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
Wow! Good! Easy to make! My daughters helped me make the balls and loved it. Of course they had to try one and make sure that their work was quality :). Many other reviewers stated that they had problems with the balls falling apart when they were coating them. I did not have this problem at all. Just make sure that when you roll the cookie/cream cheese balls, you roll them until they are solid. I told my daughters it was like playing with playdough. I used white coating and reserved a small amount. I colored the reserve coating green for St. Patty's Day and made criss-crosses over the tops. They looked store quality! You could use any color if you use the white. You can also use different sandwich cookies for different flavors. I'm going to make them in the shape of eggs for Easter!

Stuffed Strawberries

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
These were very good! I used french vanilla liquere instead of the orange. They still turned out great! I think next time I will make these using vanilla extract in place of the liqueur for the kids.

These were fantastic! To cook, these were easy. I did not change anything in this recipe. There was some time invested in putting them together, but it was well worth it!

Oriental Cold Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
This was okay. I think it'll be a nice base for what I'm looking for. I agree with another reviewer that the vinegar is too much. I will make this again and cut the vinegar down. I did get some very nice comments about it at the cookout I took it to.

Good and easy. The boiling of the carrots and peas makes them perfect for stir frying without worrying about them being too crunchy.
