I know, I know!  It's been a long time since my last post but man have things moved right along in my life.  First, we now have a 32 ft Trailer Camper.  I love it, no more tent beds.  Second, I RETIRED IN OCTOBER! How great is that.  We spent all of October and most of November in the new… MORE

OMGosh!  It seems like it was just last week I was whining about the cold winter weather.  Last winter was mild but I do dislike having to go out into the elements.  This summer was amazing.  We have been busy setting up housekeeping in our new and newer campers.  I have enjoyed every minute… MORE

Finally, and I do mean finally, a camping weekend that didn't involve working on the camper(s) or attending various functions at the campgrounds.  I love the campgrounds where we camp and the people there are absolutely the best.  But sometimes it is really nice to just hang out with my… MORE

Thanks so much for the positive feedback.  Darryl and I began camping about 4 years ago with a little tent, then graduated to a larger tent with a queensize air bed, screen room, and camp kitchen complete with sink.  Man, am I spoiled or what!?  Now that we have the camper I really enjoy the… MORE

Well, since I last posted, we have gotten rid of the motorcycles and have purchased a camping trailer and truck.  We have always liked to camp but tent camping was just getting to be too much.  So now we have a "hybrid" trailer.  23 feet of living space and the beds plop right down on the… MORE

Well, I just spoke with my daughter and she will be here tomorrow for a conference in DC.  Of course she has her requests...........Chicken Picatta (Mom's).  I've already figured it into my menu plan for the week, so she's happy.  Last night I fixed a "Birthday Celebration Dinner" for my… MORE

Hi, my name is Pat.  My "handle" is ravlady59.  I am 53 years old and engaged to a really great guy.  He eats anything I fix, without complaint.  Plus he doesn't mind cooking with me or doing the dishes after dinner.   How great is that?! I am very new to blogging.  In my blog, I would like to… MORE

About Me
I am 53 the mother of 1 daughter (grown and moved out on her own) and engaged to Darryl. We are avid motorcycle riders and each own Harleys! We have two dogs - Peanut 12 years old a yorkiepoo and our new "baby" is Mac - He is 2 months old and adorable. He is a yorkie. Both have carriers for the bike and goggles, so they ride whenever we do. Take me, take my dogs or I don't go! UPDATE: We got rid of the motorcycles and invested in a new pickup truck and camping trailer! WOW! Now I am trying to come up with meals to fix while we are camping. So much fun!
My favorite things to cook
Anything - I love the challenge of trying to create a new dish or just the comfort of the "old" dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday Meals - same thing every year. But it really is worth looking forward to. Thanks to my Mom and Dad.
My cooking triumphs
So far I haven't lost anyone to my meals. I guess my biggest joy was the year I made Thanksgiving Dinner for my family and extended family for the first time. My Grandmother, was a home economics teacher and Granddaddy was just a wonderful person. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the best part....It was all done and hot/cold at the same time. Yeah!
My cooking tragedies
Lots, too many to mention here but lets just go with "no one died" or refused to try something else I made.
