I married young and have stayed that way for more than 30 years. 5 sons, 1 daughter in that order. I can't say that I love to cook, I did alot of cooking like a camp cook when my kids were all at home. I would cook 5 pounds of spaghetti or 50 tacos for a meal! I enjoy the chance to experiment a bit more these days with only a couple of teenagers left at home. I enjoy cooking for my family at the holidays.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake yeast breads, pastries and desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For me southern comfort foods, fried chicken, fried pork chops with the bone and fat! Greens, beans with ham hocks and cornbread, fresh fried clams straight from the beach, (dug with my grandpa). Tuna casserole made with potato chips. Yum. Obviously no health foods :-) These are the foods that remind me of my family from Oklahoma and Missouri. My husband is Italian and spaghetti and meatballs from scratch is a tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean pot of spaghetti sauce and a great loaf of homemade bread.
My cooking tragedies
Pie crust, my nemesis!
