Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2014
This was the 1st time I have made Yorkshire. I tried a large muffin tin which worked well. I used them as a side for roast beef with au jus and they were a great replacement for the heavy rolls I normally put out with the meal. I didn't let the batter set at all and the puddings still rose well.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
This is the fluffiest and sturdiest pancake I have found. The sour milk is essential. Next I will add some berries and see how it does with the addition.....

Chocolate Irish Car Bomb Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
This was great, a bit more complicated , but so worth the compliments. The alcohol is actually more obvious in the filling, than the glaze.

Spicy Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
The flavor was beautiful on this. I couldn't find fish sauce in my immediate neighborhood so I left it out. I do wonder if it may have had more body. My husband made a jasmine rice with coconut milk to accompany and the flavors were great together. I love a saucy stir, so I reduced all the marinade. wasn't overwhelming. I will make this again, with fish sauce.

Real Sopapillas

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
Great recipe, I haven't made these since home ec in the 9th grade. Tried them on a night I made tacos for the main course. Temperature proved crucial. 375 lets them brown and puff just right. After rolling in cinnamon and sugar, drizzle with honey. Sounds too sweet, but it is just right. And the warmer the better.

Chicken Asparagus Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
This was pretty tasty, didn't have tarragon, so substituted rosemary. It reflected well against the mustard and lemon. Good tip to put some sauce in the middle.

Fabulous Fudge Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
Pretty good recipe, a lighter and tasty chocolate cake. Next time I will try something with berries or brandy for instead of the caramel. Ok just too sweet. I followed th suggestion of 5 squares of chocolate; two un-sweet and 3 semi sweet. Perfect sweet and flavor mix.

Grilled Chicken Wings with Sweet Red Chili and Peach Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
This is great!! made them for a family barbeque, with a side of potatoe salad, very nice. My local store did not have the apricot-peach perserves, so I tried straight apricot. I used a bit more chili sauce because I like spice and doubled the cilantro. Great on the grill, I can see other possibilities too.

This is an easy and excellant side. I made it for a dinner party that included a lobster bisque, this came in 2nd fav for the night. all any well stocked kitchen will have to add is fresh asparagus. The thinner is better.

These were delicious, I made them without nuts. I think they were probably better with the nuts. Hit and miss with the audience. My mother wanted bigger pices of cranberry.

Donna's Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
Although this is a good standard bread, I found it to be dry. Even though I only cooked it for 50 minutes instead of the 60 called for. Maybe soem additional zucchini and less cook time might moisten it. The next time I will try it as a muffin recipe, it has a good basic flavor, just needs more moisture. The sugar glaze was a must, I used only a drizzle, perhaps more of a full covered "frosting" works better.
