I absolutely love, love, love this cake. I didn't expect it to turn out right because, to begin with, I did not have buttermilk. I had to make my own using whole milk and fresh lemon juice. Also, I thought baking this at 275 would take forever but that was not an issue either. It did take longer than the one hour, stated in the recipe (mine took an additional 15 mins and it all depends on your oven's heat). If the ingredient's measurements are followed to a T, this recipe is foolproof!!! Finally, taking the cake out of the oven and placing it directly into the freezer must have worked because the cake was very soft and moist as predicted in the instructions. I wonder if the oven-freezer method works for all cakes. Nonetheless, my family thoroughly enjoyed this cake.
