Nana's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Never actually thought of this as a sauce, but this is almost (minus celery salt and lemon juice) my father's recipe for what we call "Jackwich"...his name is Jack and it is a play on Manwich...he adds these ingredients to browned ground beef and voila! Yummy and a family favorite we top with creamy coleslaw on a bun! I will now be using this recipe to make sauce for other things! Thanks!

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
I have to make these for Christmas morning "appetizers" while the rest of the breakfast is cooking and we are waiting on the rest of the family to arrive. I make them ahead of time and freeze and then travel to my parents house (12 hours) with them. Not sure they would let me come without them ;)

Bacon Popcorn

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
Growing up, this is how my mom made popcorn (and green beans and corn bread...everything had a little bacon grease in it!). I haven't had it in years, but will try it again...there are no fonder memories then Friday nights growing up, having this as a treat!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Excellent soup...very easy and my fairly picky family loved it! I used the roasted chicken, but would try it with chicken breasts cooked right along with the soup next time. My family doesn't like corn, so I used a can of small white beans. The tortilla strips are so much better than bag tortilla chips...tossed them with a pinch of salt before baking. Make extra, because everyone picks at them before they go on the soup! I topped mine with sliced avocado and served with grilled cheese on a snowy day. Perfect!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
I have been making this dip for about 2 years is a staple I keep all the ingredients in the house for! My boys love it, as does everyone any place I have ever taken it to. IF there are any leftovers (like once I think!) my boys like to eat it in a wrap the next day. The only thing I do differently is mix it all together and heat in the oven, not cook it on the stove top.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Best ever! Made them with craisins instead of choc chips (although I would do the chips next time!) They are still chewy days later, although not too many are left! I refrigerated the dough before baking as suggested by others, as well as took the suggestions to decrease salt to 1/4 tsp, increase flour to 1 1/2 cups, soda to 1 tsp and add cinnamon. We thought we might try them another time with coconut and craisins too! Thanks for a keeper!
