Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2013
Didn't try, but think I will try in case of no time to make my normal tetrazzini recipe that uses heavy cream. To the lady who said her boys didn't like the cheddar, I think the more traditional recipe (like the one I have) calls for parmesan cheese. I would also use either 2 cans of cream of mushroom or 1 of mush. and 1 of chicken and add pepper.

Mayan Couscous

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2012
This was awesome and my whole family agreed! I used jarred jalapenos because I wasn't sure which was called for and didn't have fresh. We all ate some on the side and then ended up putting it and taco meat on tortillas. Didn't need to add anything else to the tacos, but did add a little shredded cheese. My 2 year old loved it too, which was great since he's only been able to eat soft food or stuff he doesn't have to bite into since he knocked out his front tooth and jammed the other one into his gums. He asked for thirds!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
This is sooo good with the only downfall being that you have to simmer the meat mixture longer than specified to get the rice fully done. I don't like to chomp on the hard rice, but even then it is a good recipe.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
I make this dessert all the time! Everyone loves it and I love that no baking is required! When I'm in a pinch to get dessert ready in a hurry, I run to this recipe. I pop it in the freezer once it's made for a quick cooling process and we always keep these refrigerated for best texture.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

I love this recipe and have even made it in crockpot as turning on the oven can sometimes heat up our whole 640sq. foot house.

Beef Nacho Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
My whole family of nine loved this which is a difficult assignment in itself. I didn't bake it, as we don't use the oven in the summer, but it (doubled recipe with added black beans) turned out great in the crockpot on low for about five hours (I think). Used 2/3 sour cream and 1/3 mayo. My opinion because the chips absorbed whatever liquid was in there, it turned out with the consistency of tamales. Great recipe! Will make again!

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I don't like to mess up a recipe's rating by just asking a question so I wrote 5stars, but I'm wondering how much kick this recipe has with so much red pepper added? I used it in slow cooker recipe that called for chili seasoning packet but was afraid it would be too spicy for the kids, so I reduced the pepper flakes to a teaspoon. Any ideas?

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I have tried for a long time to make my chili recipe into one closer to what my hubby remembers eating as a child, and always failed. He thought what was needed was for it to simmer all day, which I did, but to no avail. When I made this one, and did simmer it all day because I cooked it so early in the day, he raved about it. He actually loved it! Only minus the beer: I was going to sub a mixture of juice and Sprite and chicken broth, but left it on the counter accidentally. Still excellent in the family's eyes and soupy enough like everyone likes.

Savory Chicken and Stuffing Bake

Excellent recipe! I'm making it right now. I'm so excited to taste because I haven't made it all summer and then some, since it's baked.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Our family likes this served with some cooked chicken on tortillas. It somewhat reminds us of Chipotle's burritos.

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I'm a mom of six (soon to be seven)so I really liked the ease of this recipe. We all love Mexican style food so everyone liked this one. Not one complaint, except that I either should have had my broiler setting on Lo or I should have had the rack one position lower because I charred the edges of a couple. That was easy enough to fix by cutting that off.

Cheesy Hash Browns

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
Very good! I tried to make this once with my own shredded potatoes, and unless you bake this extra long, the potatoes don't get done. My advice use the frozen, shredded ones like the recipe states.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I gotta try this on skinless chicken breasts because unless you eat the skin you lose a lot of the flavor, but overall these are very juicy and tender especially if you keep them covered most of the cooking time. You can also serve the chicken with drippings over rice. Yum!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I would give this recipe more stars if it weren't for the extreme heat level of it even after I cut back on the chili powder. I like spicy food but this was too much, however it was great with added cooked rice and leftover shredded beef from a "shredded beef for tacos" recipe I found on AP. I did use canned black beans (some of those pureed like another reviewer suggested). I had a lot of Cilantro in it also which my husband thought I added too much of, but I loved the dish and so did all of our six children. Thanks for the recipe.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I am a meat lover so I thought this was lacking something because of the pasta being filled with just cheese. Maybe I'll try this sauce with frozen beef ravioli. The tomatoes in the sauce is what I really liked about it except I couldn't find the kind specified. I used one can of plain diced tomatoes and one of Fire roasted with garlic. Nice simple recipe!

Shredded Beef for Tacos

I liked this one, but some of my family thought it lacked the "taco" taste. I would probably add more seasonings to the meat next time.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

This was just okay. My friend really likes this one, but I'm not a big fan. My kids were also just okay with this recipe. They all ate it without complaint, but no rave reviews...
