About this Cook
I'm an anomaly on here...I HATE to cook and until recently I've managed to avoid it. I have recently given up gluten and I love to eat...amazing and healthy food...so I'm stuck preparing meals! I love this site for helping me do this as painless as possible.
My favorite things to cook
Read up
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family background is Newfie...so try to avoid those "family cooking traditions". It wasn't all about the seafood contrary to popular opinion. Two words..."Newfie Steak"!
My cooking triumphs
Yes I've had these...suprisingly enough.
My cooking tragedies
Far too many too mention...all come with a good laugh though.

Amazing Simple Thai Tofu
It was ok. The flavours were great but I wasn't a fan of the pasty texture. I didn't have sesame oil (maybe that would have made a difference). I felt like i needed a sauce To be fair my daughter loved it as is. Will likely give this another go with a yogurt sauce on standby. *note: used GF soy sauce.

Kale and Banana Smoothie
I was pleasantly surprised by the flavour of this smoothie! I had rice milk and worked great. Needed a good amount of blending to make perfectly smooth. A word of warning to 1st time eaters of raw kale-as I was and learned this the hard way this morning. It can be pretty hard on the digestive system to the point of nausea. If your not sure I would recommend trying this later in the day rather than on an empty stomach and in smaller quantities.

Caesar Salad Supreme
Great recipe. My garlic cloves were huge and I knew I should have used less - but didn't listen to my instincts. Wayyyyy too much garlic, I will pay attn to my inner garlic ratio guru next time. I didn't have anchovies and didn't miss them. *note: gluten-free adjustments were GF worcestershire and GF bread crumbs.
