This turned out great! I will be making it again. I also made the Best Egg Rolls recipe from this site and fried rice that together made dinner perfect. No more take out for us!

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Hubby made this while I was at work today. It was wonderful for that reason and in itself! Very good dinner. He followed the directions exactly and it was delicious.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Wonderful recipe! Used yellow cake and full container of strawberries and cream frosting. Refrigerated blend before making the balls. That made the blend easier to roll up by hand without being so sticky. Froze the balls before using toothpicks to pick up and coat with white chocolate. Freezing kept the balls on the toothpicks and saved the chocolate from crumbs. Then after they dried I drizzled colored chocolate on them. Turned out very moist and delicious. Also made a batch using chocolate cake with creamy coconut pecan frosting. FabHub liked those the most.

Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Made this for a Soup Luncheon at work. My "in my pantry" changes included using canned pumpkin puree, home grown medium heat sage seasoned sausage, chicken broth, and roasted pecan syrup. My husband and I tried some immediately after it was made and it was delicious. Nice and thick after a run through the blender. Glad we had dinner already or we would have eaten up my lunch plans. The soup is now in three quart jars in the fridge and I hope the taste holds out through reheating in the crock pot.

Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
I found this recipe after I realized that I have no idea what SC Milk is supposed to look like and what consistency it should have and what I had didn't look too good. The can had no date and I don't remember buying it, so out it went. I was cleaning out the pantry and trying to use what I had to make a dessert and fudge was the target. Luckily I had some evaporated milk. So I stirred and stirred and finally it boiled. I let the mix cool a little bit, but was going to use in with melting sugar anyway so I dumped what I need in the fudge pot and poured the rest into a pint jar. The fudge turned out great, which speaks well for this homemade mix.

Jean's Fudge

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This fudge is delicious. It is still cooling at the moment, but someone had to clean the spoon! So, I only changed things by making my own SC milk, story of that and the review over at Homemade SC Milk, and I added a few more chocolate chips and walnuts than directed to empty the packages, but it turned out great. Just keep stirring and then mix in the chocolate quickly to pour over before it starts to set. Jean did good.

Pickled Carrot Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Excellant recipe - and I don't usually like carrots. Because these aren't cooked until mushy and are covered in flavor, really tasty. I used the wavy cut carrot coins instead of sticks.
