Luscious Four-Layer PHILLY Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I made this recipe exactly as instructed.....I was expecting it to have the flavor of a Pumpkin Roll type dessert.....my mistake. To me, the flavors were a bit bland, the cream cheese frosting was good and lite in texture, but I think I'd like it better with standard cream cheese frosting mixed with a little Pumpkin Pie Mix....no cool whip. It was easy to make and my guests all said they liked it, but I feel like they were being gracious. It was very pretty.....and when I brought it out..everyone ooooohhh'd and aaaawwww'd, but I don't think I serve it again without modifications.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
It is THE one! Sooooo Good. Even with the changes I made due to ingredients I had on hand, it was fabulous. I only had Smoked Paprika and no white Pepper and used 1- 6 1/2 lb Roaster. Followed everything else. Marinated in Plastic wrap over 24 hours (not intentionally, but thats just how it had to work out) It was so good. So Tender, cooking low just makes the meat fall off the bone fabulous.

Creamy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
This is my husbands favorite pie--bar none. His mother gave me this recipe when we were first married 28 years ago. The only thing I noticed was sometimes its a little runny after it sits, so I started putting 1/2t of cornstarch before mixing and it just comes out perfect everytime......its better than his mothers!!(which of course I love). Great pie.......

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
The flavor of this cake was just what I was hoping for. It had great taste and was so easy to make. I used my cast iron skillet and followed directions exactly, the only thing was it took a lot longer to bake that the Box stated, almost 15 minutes longer. I toothpick tested it for doneness and it came out dry to the eye, but apparently even after the 10 minute wait before turning it out, it was still undone in the center. I'd recommend leaving it in until the center is totally set(not jiggly) and then 5 minutes past that.

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
These muffins are fail safe. I've also made the "to die for" muffins, I liked these better. I got ahead of myself in the recipe and added all the sugar at once, then I messed up the order of adding things. OMG..still super great. To me, mashing those blueberries make more of a blueberry flavor to the muffin. The only thing I added was about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. I think cinnamon always compliments blueberries. I also have made this same recipe using banana's instead of blueberries. The texture of these muffins is by far the best. They are just great. I wish there were 6 stars.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I took the advice of the previous rating by NoelC. I doubled the cheesecake ingredients, microwaved the apples, added a crumb topping and baked with pan of water underneath. FABULOUS!!!! Best cheesecake ever! I drizzled with Carmel sauce before serving. Yummy!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
This is our favorite guacamole recipe. I've made it several times so far and everyone loves it. I've started adding 1/2 of a small minced jalapeno pepper w/o the seeds to give it a perfect little kick. I'm not a fan of hugh heat, so you could add more if you wanted to kick it up. Love Love Love this recipe.

Ruth's Roquefort Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
this is a wonderful and simple recipe. I needed to bring a cheese plate to a Halloween party, so I prepared the cheese exactly as mentioned except I added 2 drops of blue food coloring (for effect)then I rolled the chilled cheese log in Black sesame seeds instead of nuts and served it with a darker colored cracker. It was great looking and perfect for the occasion. It was a rave and gone almost within the first 15 minutes of the party.

Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
I love recipes that are made with plain old ingredients, not with cans of pre-made goo. This is the traditional old fashion recipe for scalloped potatoes. Perfect! It was great with ham, fresh green beans and a fruit salad.

Sweet and Tart Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
I love recipes like this, when the ingredients make you think twice. I almost decided against it. That would have been a mistake. I actually went a little heavy on my measurements, the faint hint of freshed crushed pepper was such a wonderful twist. My husband couldn't place the flavors, but went back for thirds. He loved it and said it was better than plain sugar because the berries didn't get stickey. This will be a recipe to take to gatherings, its easy, tastes great and the ingredients will shock all who ask. Loved it.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
exceptional ! I followed the recipe, except I put my noodles in without cooking them and made it the day before my company came. I set it out maybe 30 minutes before cooking and left it in a 350* oven for alittle over an hour, covered. Spraying the underside of the foil is needed. My company loved it. They both liked the fact that is wasn't runny. It's not runny because the uncooked noodles soak up all the extra juices, its all just pure flavor.
