Slow Cooker Italian Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
I did change this a little as I found it a little bland, added Parsley, bay leaf, basil, garlic and then sliced onions and Jalapenos for the last hour of cooking.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Good simple recipe although for me not the very best, I used two medium red onions, 8 oz mushrooms. 4 Jalapenos. Like many other reviewers I did add the peppers right at the end of cooking and they were nice and crunchy.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Totally Gorgeous ~ I doubled all the ingredients just so I could have a bigger dessert. Easy to make, had no problems making the ball shape. I did use an extra 1/4 cup of confectioners sugar. I used 1/2 portion of vanilla extra and then 1/2 portion mint extract, also added mint chocolate chips. As I am a choc-o-holic I thought why spoil it with nuts!!!! So coated in toffee bits rather than chopped pecans. Tasted just like a mint chocolate cheese cake ~ delicious!

Carrots in Dill Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
I was surprised with this recipe, It seemed strange to add the sugar and dill to the pan at the start, but I did follow the recipe exactly and was so pleased with the results. Pretty sure I will be making these again.

Bacon Feta Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly, while I loved the bacon and the feta I did not like the beans. Maybe it was because these were frozen beans I'm not sure. I plan on trying this recipe with fresh beans and see if that makes a difference!

Brie’s Cinnamon Apple Dog Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
These dog biscuits require the use of Wheat flour which some dogs are sensitive to, if so its so easy to modify this recipe, simply substitute one cup of wheat flour for 1-1/4 cup of rye or oat flour or ¾ cup, rice, barley or potato flour.

Sweet Baby Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Oh I just loved this recipe and so did my family, made a nice change from plain carrots. I just know I will be using this recipe again, Only change I made was to halve the amount of butter, honey and sugar as I thought it would be too sweet for my family. Turned out delcious.

I just love this extremely simple recipe. It really does make a very quick and easy side, but taste's so good. I followed the recipe exactly other than added chopped bacon. I know this will be used by me again and again!

Orange Raisin Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
This is just an OK cake. I followed the recipe exactly, did not change a thing. But although I enjoyed the taste of the cake, did not like the texture. It was so dense, not a light moist cake at all. Hopefully it will taste a little better in the morning! Just did not wow me!

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Good recipe ~ I did make a few modifications. I did not use the bacon, so cooked the leeks in olive oil, also used half and half as I forgot to purchase the heavy cream! Great soup, all the family loved it. Thank you for sharing.

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
Even though this may seem a little time consuming for a week day night, believe me its delicous. I followed the recipe exactly, made an extra lasagna for the freezer also. Even leftover heated up in the microwave still taste good. I will certainly be making this again.

Sunday Morning Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Oh my goodness ~ This recipe is a keeper. I had buttermilk, so used that in place of the milk/vinegar combination. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly, I doubled all ingredients and made 20 pancakes. The texture was so light and fluffy, absolutely perfect just the right combination of lemon and poppy seed.

Ropa Vieja in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Simple easy recipe, can't believe that up until 2 months ago I only ever used a slow cooker to keep soup warm! I did add all the ingredients from the start, also added a couple of Jalapeno's. I'm not sure this is something I would make again but it made for a nice easy dinner tonight!
