Crab and Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2014
I made this recipe as written and they were very good. I definitely plan on making them again but the next time I'll cut down on the butter, add some shrimp, diced green onion and a sprinkle of old bay.

VELVEETA® Down-Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2014
I'm rating this recipe as written but adding one thing easily makes it into a five star dish. I add a can of Progresso cheese starter into the cheese sauce. It adds extra flavor and it is so much creamier, especially when heating any leftovers up. I didn't add the crackers. I feel like crackers or bread crumbs tend to take away from the creaminess and can make it dry. We like just a sprinkle of shredded colby-jack or cheddar cheese on top and let it brown a bit.

Creamy Herbed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2014
I usually don't rate a recipe if I have to change it but this recipe has great beginnings! I was out of beef bouillon so I left it out and changed the amount of basil from 1 3/4 tsp. to 1 tsp. I was afraid it was to much basil for our taste. I added a dash of onion powder and garlic powder. I ended up adding more milk because the gravy was a little thick. It tasted great-the pork was tender and juicy. I will definitely be making it again. Next time I'll try some diced onion, minced garlic and maybe some mushrooms.

Creamy Linguine with Clam Sauce

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
I love this recipe. It is so easy, fast and tastes wonderful. Only changes I made was to leave out the wine and used 2-6.5 oz cans of clams instead of one 10 oz. We will definitly make this again!

I did not care for this recipe. The texture was nice, though.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
This is such an easy and fast soup. I've made it as written and loved it, but I also like to add either shredded chicken or shredded pork loin sometimes too. This is a wonderful recipe.

Bacon Ranch Chicken Skewers

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2012
I wasn't at all impressed with this recipe. I used a high quality dressing and followed the recipe but still there wasn't the flavor I was hoping for.

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2012
Whats great about this recipe is that the cabbage is good whether it is made with bacon or with other meats. I've made it with bacon, boneless chops, and Italian sausage so far. The sauteed onion, along with the herbs and spices add a flavor to the cabbage that is very good.

Zucchini Herb Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
I read the reviews and decided to doubled the spices. I added a little cayenne pepper in it too. I used diced canned tomatoes w/oregano and basil instead of fresh-didn't have any on hand. I was pleasantly surprised at how great zucchini can taste when paired with the ingredience this recipe calls for. Next time I make it, I may just leave out the rice. The vegetable/cheese mixture can stand on its own.

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
We thought this was good. I'm glad I looked over the reviews before making because the 6 tablespoons of butter would of been way more than needed.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
My new buttercream icing recipe! The taste is so creamy-I used 1 cup shortening, 1 cup butter. Also started out with 1/4 cup of heavy cream then added more to get desired consistency, didn't quite need the total amount called for. Spreads easily and makes wonderful borders and flowers. Thank you Rick!

Baked Asian-Style Honey Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
This was excellent. The only changes I made was to use 1/2 tbs of dried ginger instead of the 1 tbs of fresh that it called for. I also tripled the marinade. I am so glad I did. The chicken had good flavor that wasn't overpowering but that was strong enough to taste. Very tender and julcy too. I cooked it at 415 degrees for 50 minutes and had no trouble with it burning. I served it with house fried rice and oriental vegetables.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
This just wasn't very good. Even though it doesn't call for a lot of mustard, I found the taste of it over powering the other flavors. If I try it again, it will definitley be with less mustard-probably without it all together.

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
These were very good! I made them in the oven using a broiler pan and then simmered them in store bought sauce. The meatballs were great but what they did to the sauce was incredible. The only things I changed was that I used a little less cajun seasoning and Italian bread crumbs instead of croutons. I will definitley make again.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Excellent! I made a few changes because I wanted to use what I had on hand. First I used black beans instead of chili beans, then 1-14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes and 1-14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes w/green chilis, and a packet of Mc Cormicks hot chili seasoning along with all the other herbs and spices the recipe calls for. This is tasty and spicy-definitley a 5 star soup! A dinner to look forward to-thank you Catherine.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
I made this for Christmas dinner and it received rave reviews! My roast was a 10 lb rib eye. I did add a couple more spices than just the ones called for, but kept the baking time the same. It came out perfect. Thank you for the recipe and the instructions on roasting it to perfection.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Prepared as written, I found it bland and disappointing. It doesn't come close to being the best ham and potatoe soup I've ever had. It is a good base but definitley needs something more. Maybe add sour cream, shredded carrots, cheddar cheese, and for sure more spices and herbs.
