About this Cook
I am married for 28 years to my highshcool sweetheart and best friend. We have 1 daughter in college.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I come from a family of bakers, my uncle was a baker in the Navy and my mom and her sister were bakers at a school for more than 25 years each.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really enjoy when all the women in the family (aunts and cousins) get together to prepare our huge holiday meals and also to prepare all the cookies and food for our annual St. Joseph Altar( it is an old Italian tradition).
My cooking triumphs
Everyone loves my cocoon cookies and fudge. I have people start asking in October if I am making them for Christmas. Also everyone love my lasagne, egg rolls and head cheese. I get lots of requests for them whenever a pot luck is planned.
My cooking tragedies
Not too many tragedies in my cooking liFe. Just once that I remember I tried to cook a roast in a crock pot with dried onion soup and it came out terrible. Not even the dog would eat it.

The Original Fantasy Fudge
this is the best fudge recipe around. I have been making it for years and my family begs for it during the holidays. I lost the original recipe in Katrina but luckily it was committed to memory. I just need to look at a jar of marshmallow creme to jog the butterflies in my head.

Lemon Freeze Pie
My family loved this dessert. I omitted the lemon juice, thought it was lemony enough. Very quick and easy to make just remember to do it the night before to allow time to freeze. Very cool and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken
this is a quick and easy dish to prepare. the only thing I did differently from the recipe is add 1 cup chicken broth to make more sauce. I let the broth and lime juice simmer for about 15 minutes to make a sauce and served it over pasta with the chicken. The family loved it.
