Reviewed: May 4, 2011
Have made this twice and wonderful, both times... omitted the basil and grilled rather than pan fried... but the marinade is wonderful... gave it 5 stars for flavor ....

Excellent..... used sushi rice vinegar (already has sugar added) minced ginger and a bit of salt. Perfect, not too sweet... the sesame seeds were a nice touch... used a combination of black and white seeds....

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
Used some of the comments from other cooks.. marinated w/soy sauce & apple juice... after sauteing onions, browning pork chops, put all in baking dish, covered with apples and sauce (w/corn starch and apple juice added for thickening)..then foil. Baked for 40 minutes at 375. removed foli, sprinkled with chopped pecans and baked another 5min. Came out wonderful. Onions and apples were a nice compliment to the pork and the sauce was not too sweet. I did double the sauce recipe.

Apple and Brown Sugar Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Not the flavor of corned beef I've made in the past, but very good. It is a little sweet instead of a little salty. I may make it again, but only enough for one meal... everyone ate it and loved it, but no one wanted leftovers... It's good, it's interesting but, since we only do corned beef once a year.. I'll probably make it again...

Miso and Soy Chilean Sea Bass

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Wonderful Flavor.. I had a nice piece of Halibut and some jumbo sea scallops... marinated them together for about six hours... baked at 400 for 3min and then broiled at higher heat for about 6min... They came out perfectly cooked. brought the leftover marinade to a simmer for about 4-5 min... wonderful sauce to serve along with fish, rice, and fresh asparagus... garnished with chive stems to look like it was served in a fancy Asian resturant.......

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
Made this on a boat using an entire fresh wild salmon.. each side on a separate BBQ... fed 10 people who raved about the flavor... only thing I would change... cut back the oil to at least half. Sesame oil is just fine as is... other is too much and I ended up spooning it out of the mixing bowl before putting on the fish.. Highly recommend this recipe !!

Cherry Tomato Corn Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
Great salad base... seed your cucumbers so you don't end up with too much liquid. I used garlic infused olive oil and a touch of fresh basil and lemon juice because I didn't have lime. Fresh and tasty...

Famous Japanese Restaurant-Style Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
Wonderful ! Our new favorite salad dressing... keep this recipe and laminate it !! I added a small carrot to give a bit more texture... you could probably do anything you want to the basic recipe and never ruin it.

Japanese Shrimp Sauce II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
Very good basic sauce. Mine came out even better than the one at our local Japanese Steak House. I used the advice in another review... added Ginger and a small amount of canned peaches (used a little unsweetened peach juice in lieu of water) also honey instead of sugar. Everyone raved about it and asked for the recipe... You can make this sauce your own with a few little changes....

Israeli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
I followed some of the advice in other reviews and used just a little less parsley, mint and olive oil. I did use garlic infused oil, as I didn't have fresh garlic on hand.. results were the same....WONDERFUL ! Fresh, great taste... will make this again....

Blueberry Clafouti

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
I made two for an evening BBQ, one, fresh cherries (pitted them myself) and the other with raspberries, black berries and blue berries. They came out perfectly.. My guests had a choice and chose both with a scoop of good vanilla ice cream. I gave 5 stars because I found this can be mixed in a blender or food processor with great results.... will save time.

Clemons Family Bean Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Very good, similar to one I've made in the past. It was enjoyed by all and the leftovers were added to some beef enchiladas which turned out great. I followed the advice posted on this site and cooked the spices with the ground beef.

Gluten Free Ginger-Honey Crunch

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Made this for a big boating weekend. Used half ginger and half cardamon with good success. Put in dried bananas, dried pineapple, minced candied ginger, almonds, and dark chocolate bits (when cooled) Only about half the people liked it... most dissenters disliked the bananas for some reason. I thought it was very good.

Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Incredible ! Really good. Used my garlic infused olive oil, sprinkled on a little kosher salt (it's milder) and some fresh thyme from my garden and grilled for about 3 1/2 min (asparagus were large)... As I might have mentioned, they were really good !
