About this Cook
Hi I love to cook but don't much because I live alone now :( I worked in several restaurants in Kansas City during HS and college and learned a lot from the chefs there. That training I don't think I could have bought! Priceless....
My favorite things to cook
Everything, I especially like the unusual to impress guests.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving! Althought not much of a challenge itis my favorite cooking holiday.
My cooking triumphs
Teaching others how to cook. It just takes an attitude of what's the worst that can happen and just do it!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing is worse than making a bad dish at a restaurant that someone has paid good money for. It didn't happen often but when it did it was devistating.

Cream Cheese Penguins
I've made these a few times to take to events and they are always the hit of the party. They do take some effort but they are well worth it! I use cream cheese and the ranch dip mix. I use the sandwich bag appraoch to fill the bodies, I also cut out a small sliver in the body to make it easier to fill. Putting the beak into the head is the hardest part. Make a pretty large slit and they will fit. Once it's assembled noone notices how big the slit is for the beak. I also take the wedge that is cut out from the feet for the beak and halve it so it is thinner. A pain, but it makes it easier to insert into the head. I also added those little umbrellas on a few like you get in foofoo drinks. Thank you Valerie!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie
I love this recipe it is so easy at least for me :) I have made this on several occasions to take to different events and the folks always think this is like a gourmet dish. Then I tell them how easy it is and send them to the All Recipes page, however noone has seem to be able to get it right. IDK this has to be one of the simplest recipes on here not sure why/how it could get messed up. If you haven't tried this one you should easy easy easy! Thank you CandleB for adding it to the site.

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts
I made this for my GF who love love loved it!!! She even asked for the recipe. I also modified the recipe. Browned chicken on stove top, I may try grilling the chicken next time with Laurys seasoning salt. I also made the sauce on the stove top not microwave for me, sorry I just only use it to warm things up. My issue :) Doubled the sauce added mushrooms, onions and peas for color. Served over bow tie pasta. My sauce actually thickened quite quickly and I had to add more wine, and more wine and more wine:) The wine makes the dish, use a good wine not something you wouldn't serve your guests. I'm really not sure why others have had trouble with the sauce, I highly reccomend this receipe. Thank you so much Alice!
