About this Cook
I've conquered the sweet world of baking and am almost satisfied with my cooking repertoire so I figured it's time to try a new challenge and start cooking on a strict budget. It's challenging and satisfying branching out into meatless meals like beans, rices, and trying new ethnic recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Holiday baking!! Oh the fudge! I love making frosting too, there are so many possibilities. Hubby's favorite is pot roast and it's so simple for such a delicious, comforting meal that it's pretty high up on my list.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holidays. Definitely. Weeks before Christmas having a mad bake-a-thon with my #1 kitchen assistant (he just looks so cute in an apron!) then running around giving cookie tins to all of our friends and family is something I look forward to all year.
My cooking triumphs
After living with my in-laws for a couple months, we moved and both of them said they missed my cooking. It was so sweet. :)
My cooking tragedies
Haha oh goodness, from kitchen explosions to destroying a microwave, from completely inedible concoctions that require calling out for pizza to catastrophes that don't even make it in the oven, I've done it all and had my fair share of trade tragedies!

No fail recipe, mix and match your spices, it's sooo moist and delicious!! Use it every time! Thanks!

Simple Turkey Chili
I LOVE this chili! First time making chili and needed to use up some ground turkey in the fridge, what a pleasant surprise! I've made it 5 or so times and it always turns out better when I follow the recipe (I'm prone to tweaking recipes) for the spices but I cut back on the cayenne and use mild chili powder, add corn and small diced carrots (the sweetness is a nice change) and celery to add a veggie punch. Freezes well too! :)

Irish Cream Bundt Cake
I made 12 baby bundts with this recipe and baked until a toothpick came out clean - the glaze is what makes this dessert over the top and I will definitely make it again! Everyone loved it, but it's definitely got an Irish Cream kick!
