About this Cook
I really enjoy cooking. I like experimenting and also love my collection of recipes I've gathered from cookbooks, family friends, newspapers, etc... I'm not an expert when it comes to cooking. But I am blessed to know a good bit and that my family and friends keep coming back for more. That makes me really happy.
My favorite things to cook
My all time favorite thing to cook is spaghetti. My mom and my grandmother taught me how to make theirs and it's my comfort food. I also like to make soups, cookies, cakes, salads...I pretty much like cooking anything, just not really hip on making bread too much (but I LOVE eating it).
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and grandmother taught me to how to make their spaghetti. Now I make it every Christmas Eve for everyone. My dad taught me how to grill steaks. My other grandmother taught me how to bake cakes...including my very favorite sour cream pound cake. Oh and her famous cheese straws! I have to make those every year for family, friends, teachers, co-workers, etc... for Christmas. If I made them all year long we'd weigh a ton, so we save them for Christmas time! HA
My cooking triumphs
Any meal that they come back for seconds....or the next day for leftovers. HA!
My cooking tragedies
Eh, those happen but we like to forget about those and stay focused on the positive. Don't want to get discouraged. :)

Sassy Chicken Enchilada Dip
Delicious. I made it just the way it is written and it was awesome. Everyone loved it. It does seem like it would be really good to roll up in tortillas for enchiladas.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken
This was very good and simple to prepare. It will be a regular recipe in my house now. The sauce soaks in the chicken just right and has a great flavor. I love the cider vinegar in it, gives it a nice twang. I made this with drumsticks and thighs. I used low sodium soy sauce because that's just what we use at my house and it was great. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
