Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
Followed as directed. The only thing I added was Sour Cream to the Soup, just before serving. This kicked it up a notch. So Good.

Healthier Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2014
Followed the recipe pretty much. When doing the roux with flour & blending in the milk,it just wasn't thick enough. So I added some corn starch to thicken it up more when cooking. After adding the Roux to the Pot, I tried the soup,It was good, but I wanted to kick it up a notch.I added Sour Cream. What a Nice added flavor.I first added some to my test bowl of soup.It was so good. Then I added the Sour Cream to the whole Pot.Add a bit at a time to your liking,or not at all. It's great both ways.

Nana's Southern Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
To make it really KFC,I used my chopper, and ground the cabbage, carrot & onion into (Rice Size Pieces). That makes the KFC differance right there.Mix the vegtables completely in your bowl, before adding the mayo/milk mixture. If you don't have Buttermilk, mix a little white vinegar & milk together in a separate bowl. Let it sit for 5 min or so,till the milk kurdels(gets thick).I also add Celery Seed to mine.A couple shakes.Refrigerate,& mix just before serving.I make it in the morning, so it's ready for Lunch or Dinner.Great served on Sandwiches,Hot Dogs or Burgers also.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
This recipe sounded good.So I followed the Recipe(except)for the cannellini beans.(I didn't have any.)Well I put it all together and after a few hours in the Crock,I tasted it.It was kinda Bland,& Missing something.I went in my spice rack, sniffed a few spices, then I found that missing spice.(Cumin). I added a little at a time(and I mean a shake at a time)tasted it.Did a little more, tasted, until that Chili taste appeared on my pallet (tounge). Then it was good, not over the top,but good.It was 1 thumb up & 1 thumb down.Would I make it again? Let's say I've had better, but it was good.

Master Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
This is a great Pizza dough. I use a 16" pizza pan.I roll the dough out in the pan using a smooth glass drinking cup sprayed with pam on the outside of the glass. Roll from the center out. Also wipe a thin layer of shortning on the pizza pan, before shaking on the cornmeal. This gives a nice tan crust under the pizza.

Spiedies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
I first tried Spedies from a Roadside Vendor on Rt 17 just outside Binghamton. Then I found Loupos in Endicott. These were great. Made them at home & they turned out wonderful. They are well worth making.Everyone loved them.Marinade them, grill them, eat them on a sub or hogie roll.I saved the marinade, cooked it on the stove, and drizzled the sauce on the meat.Instead of using White Vinegar in the recipe,I use White Wine Vinegar.

Grilled Chicken Spiedies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2012
First time making these from scratch.I was buying Salamida State Fair Spiedie sauce. It was good, but Homemade is the best by far. These tasted like Lupo's, Spiedies in Endicott,NY.I'm not from that area, but I stopped and tried the Chicken Spiedie,& I was hooked. Everyone raved how great they were at my house.I also have a small food concession business,& guess what I'm serving next year.*Chicken Spiedies* Thanks Endicott.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
Very tasty & moist.Pulled apart easy.Didn't know how the root beer would add to the flavor, but there wasn't any root beer taste. After shreading,I made a mustard sauce to mix in the pork.I used yellow mustard, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, worchestershire sauce,a splash of hot sauce.I simmered it for 1/2 hour stiring it because it thickens. The sauce is a dark color & has a mild mustard taste.Matches well with the pork.Serve on rolls.
