Real Hummus

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
Perfect basic hummus recipe! I add my own variations--extra garlic and roasted red bell pepper is my favorite. I also use only 1/2 tsp of salt as suggested. This is in my fridge nearly all the time and I use it as a sandwhich spread, a 'sauce' for my vegan pita pizzas, dip, the uses are nearly limitless :)

Tomato Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
I love healthy clean recipes and this one is great! I used fresh organic tomatoes and basil from my garden and sheeps milk raw feta from a local sheep dairy. I'm not a huge balsamic fan so I'll play around with this recipe in the future, & will probably add minced garlic (because everything is better with garlic ;;)

Cucumber And Yogurt Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
I took fresh produce from my organic garden and I turned this into a cucumber and yogurt chilled soup. I used dill from my garden instead of mint, and topped it with fresh diced green onions. I followed the recipe and loved it :) very fresh, clean, and healthy.

Wonderful recipe! Mom loved it even though she dislikes pumpkin bread.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I loved this recipe and it was a big hit with my family. As I always do with recipes I added my own personal touches. Also, I used smoked turkey from Thanksgiving instead of ground turkey. I was AWESOME! And super easy!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I was excited to find this recipe. Black beans and quinoa are nutritional powerhouses and in my effort to follow a whole foods based diet (staying away from processed foods) I was pleased to run across this recipe. It was easy and relatively inexpensive to make and is a hearty meal.

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
YOWZERS this was spicy, but luckily I love spicy! (The only reason I'm not rating it a 5 is that perhaps there should have been a spice level warning-I'm the only one in the house that can eat it.) I'm chowing down as we speak. As always I don't have the exact ingredients/or want to substitute healthier ingredients. I didn't have red so I used brown lentils. Plus, I substituted honey for the white sugar. I served it with Jasmine rice. I'm in love :) It really was easy to make.

Whole Wheat Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
First off I'd like to say I don't like gingerbread cookies, but I decided to make these for my mom. I really like them! Especially since I always use whole wheat instead of white flour. I had an issue with them all kind of melting together, but that's fine. I had only half cup of molasses so I made up the other half with raw honey, which could explain the melting. I also substituted raw sugar for the white, which works well since raw sugar has a molasses taste.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
It was really good and my friends raved about it. I used stone ground whole wheat flour and raw sugar to replace the refined versions, and they were still moist and tasty.

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
AMAZING!!! I absolutely loved these and can't stop bragging on them. I substituted whole wheat for white flour, raw for white sugar, canola oil for margarine, and rolled in brown sugar as suggested. They were light, and tasted so buttery despite the lack of margarine. If you want a healthier version definitely give this version a shot!
