Cajun Crab Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
Made just like recipe but I used imitation crab since 1 lb of crab was 30 bucks! It is very yummy...just spicy enough. I am sure real crab would have been better but for 1/4 the price it was fantastic.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I read all the reviews and many had good luck with just presoaking overnight but I did not. My beans were still not done at the end of the day but close. Next time I will also precook them and hopefully they will be perfect. Did add more brown sugar as I like them sweeter, great flavor and aroma will try them again just presoak and precook.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I doubled the sauce as other suggested, used a bag of frozen mixed veges, a few petite red potatoes and it was perfect. Will definetly make again, great recipe. Everyone at work was jealous when they smelled it being warmed up in the microwave.

Cocktail Meatballs III

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
These are fabulous, we just ate them as leftovers as meatball subs covered in mozzarella, yummy. The changes I did were add some chopped onion, italian bread crumbs instead of white bread, garlic powder, and used 1/2 bbq sauce and 1/2 ketchup in the sauce. Will definetly make again my husband loved them.

A little dry but that may have been my faulty cooking them, great flavor though.

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
These were very good, the only thing I did different was leave out the egg and add some lawrys seasoning to the mix. They were perfect just like you got them at a restaurant. We fried up some crinkle fries and had fish and chips for dinner. My husband loved them. Will make again.

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
These were fabulous, we were eating them faster than they could come out of the frier. I did use more beer and added some lawry's seasoning, red pepper, garlic powder, and 1/4 c breadcrumbs....they were perfect and had plenty of flavor. This amount of batter only made one large onion though so if you need more double the batter. One big onion made plenty for two people as an appetizer. Will make again.

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
The sauce was very good even though I did add a few extra spices. The ribs were too greasy for my taste though which leaked into the sauce but the meat turned out nice and tender. Would make again but use a less fatty meat.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I made some changes to prevent the pie from being runny after reading the reviews and it still came out a little runny but has an excellent flavor and we plan on finishing it. I did half flour and half cornstarch, strained the peaches, halfed the lemon juice, added blueberries, half white, half brown sugar, and added 5 min to baking time. I also egg washed the shell inside and out which made it a nice golden brown color. Next time I would add a little more cornstarch to thicken it a little more and increase the baking time to 45 min at 350 after the initial 10 min at 450. Overall it is a very good pie and would make it again.

Quick and Easy Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
My husband and I loved this soup. I did make some changes after reading everyones reviews though and I feel they were well worth it. I used 4 cans minced clams, 2 cans clam chowder, 1 celery soup, and 1 potato soup can. I added minced garlic, old bay seasoning, sherry cooking wine, 1 small diced onion, salt, pepper, and a few chopped up petite red potatoes. I used the whole pint of heaving whipping cream but not all the half and half as I was afraid of it being runny. It turned out thick, creamy, and did NOT have that store bought taste others were mentioning. I think the must have ingredient was the sherry cooking wine, it made all the difference. Will definetly make this one again. Great recipe.

Corn Casserole III

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
This was great, the only thing I would change is to add a litle more liquid next time as it was just slightly dry after warming up leftovers and I think a little extra liquid would have helped. It was fabulous though.
