Jay's A Number One Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
We loved the flavor of these burgers! I didn't have italian breadcrumbs, so I used plain and added some oregano, basil, parsley, garlic powder, and onion salt. I forgot to follow other's tips to grill them on foil... I won't forget next time! They did kind of fall apart, but they still tasted very yummy!

Ice Cream Sandwich Desserts

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Like some other people suggested, I used both hot fudge and hot caramel, and I used crushed Heath bars instead of peanuts. THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!! I also thought that some other time I'd like to try it with hot fudge, hot caramel and pecans...

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Not bad for something different, but not as exciting as I was expecting.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This soup is delicious!!! Of course, I made a few modifications... I added about 1 1/2 t. of minced garlic to the onions and butter, I used double the amount of vegetables, and I used the broccoli, cauliflower, carrot mix instead of just broccoli. I also doubled the cheese; half velveeta and half medium cheddar. Oh, and one last thing, I dissolved chicken boullion in water instead of using cans of chicken broth. I will definately be making this again!!!

Pecan Turtle Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
These are good but very gooey and sweet. I was expecting something a little more solid. I think next time I will try using 2 cups of flour like some of the other reviews suggested.

Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
As is, this recipe is just ok. I had cut it out of the paper a couple of weeks ago because I thought it looked and sounded great. It turned out very bland as far as I was concerned, and I actually threw out the recipe because I'm sure I could find one with much more flavor!

Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
I took the advice of other reviewers and shook the aspargus in a ziploc with EVOO, pepper, garlic salt, and kosher salt. Then I baked it at 425 for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Delicious!

Fabulous Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
Sorry, but we did not care for this! My mom makes tenderloin with just a few slices of garlic tucked in here and there and a little salt and pepper, and I much prefer that way. I cooked it for the longest time suggested thinking it would come out medium as the recipe stated, and it was RARE. I had to put it back in the oven for 20-25 minutes to get it cooked through.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
These were very yummy! I left out the tomato soup, and there was plenty of sauce without it. I went with others' suggestions and put the lettuce and tomato on top after baking the burritos in the oven at 350 for 10-15 minutes. I'm sure I'll be making these often!

Shrimp and Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
I thought this was a little bland (and that was after adding some red pepper flakes as suggested by others). I had to use spaghetti noodles - 1/2 a box- because that was all I had. I thought that the noodles kind of took over. Next time I would add more broccoli and shrimp, and possibly a few other vegetables. I think I'd also try and add a little more spice and make a little more sauce.

Heather's Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
I liked this salmon because it didn't taste too "fishy." My husband (the real fish person) thought it was a little too sweet. I will certainly make this recipe again, but I think I'll cut back on the brown sugar and maybe add a clove or 2 of crushed garlic.
