Harvey Ham Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This wasn't anything special to me at all. Basically like squirting honey mustard on shredded ham. The sauce was too sweet for me. Adding a dill pickle to the sandwich helped a lot but I will not be making this recipe again.

Artichoke Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
This rates right up there with freshly made guacamole as my all time favorite dip. I have never had anything like this. It is very refreshing and the basil adds such and interesting flavor that ties everything together. I omitted olives (personal preference) and used dried basil because it's what I had on hand. This is going to become a mainstay in my kitchen!

Herbed Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Ehhh, just okay. The cooking time might be partially to blame for my poor review. 20 minutes was WAY too long and the salmon was dried out. Even if it wouldn't have been dried out it was pretty bland. I had to add a lot of salt. I won't be bothering with this recipe again.

Broccoli with Poppy Seed Butter and Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Wow, I don't think I'll ever eat broccoli another way. I ended up using only half of the butter mixture and and 2/3 of the parmesan. This is amazing!

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Very unique! I thought the crispiness and flavor of the bredding was very good. Something was lacking though, maybe needs a bit more salt? All in all a good recipe when you are bored of cooking pork chops the same old way!

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Wow, these were so good! My husband went on and on about them! I used country-style pork ribs and don't think I'll ever cook them another way. Easy to make too! I made gravy in the pot after browning them and ate it on mashed potatoes. Yum!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Wish I would have read previous reviews first. 30 minutes is WAY too long to cook this thing and it dries out. Also, the chips and cheese on top come out tasting like stale old chips and overcooked cheese. Will try again because the filling actually tasted really good before I baked it. Next time I will cook for 10-15 min, will add cheese the last 5 min and will just serve it with tortilla chips so they stay crisp. Probably would be a 4-5 star that way.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
Wow! This is the best cornbread I have ever made. My husband raved about it. I followed the advice of past reviews and only did a 1/2 c. butter instead of a cup and only 3/4 c. sugar. The cornbread was plenty sweet and I like my cornbread sweet. I will make this over and over again!

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
These are delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. I gave them only 4 out of 5 for a few reasons. 1. The icing is too runny for my liking, it was so tasty and I couldn't get enough on the cookies, and 2. I think the cookies themselves could use a bit more spice. Next time I make them I will follow the advice of prior reviews that say to add more powdered sugar to the icing to make it thicker and to depress the cookie with a spoon immediately after you pull them out of the oven so that you can make a sort of resevoir for the icing. Also, next time I am going to try adding some pumpkin pie spice. These are more like little cakes, but I loved it, they are SO moist. The icing is to die for, it reminds me of maple icing on doughnuts. Great recipe!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
This is so easy to make and so yummy! I used a rotisserie chicken from wal-mart and doubled the cilantro, because we love cilantro, but other than that I followed recipe exactly! This soup reminds me of On the Border's tortilla soup! I put shredded cheese on top, a spoonful of sour cream, and instead of making the tortilla chips I just used Misson brand tortilla chip in the strips shape. I garnished this with a few avocado wedges which is delicious in the soup! I will be making this again!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
This definitely would've been a 5 start rating, however, my cookies spread so much when I baked them that you couldn't tell what some of them were....I just did some carving with a knife to fix it tho, then decorated them with a buttercream frosting. YUM. 5 stars for taste, no doubt. I thought they were plenty sweet, especially with all the frosting on top! I don't know why they spread so bad. I did double the vanilla, but other than that I followed recipe exactly. I will use this recipe again for sure, maybe next time I will add a bit more flour. Dough rolled out and cut just fine for me, however, rolling on parchment paper was key, and dusting paper and rolling pin with confectioner's sugar (great tips from other reviews). My husband loved these and he usually doesn't like sugar cookies!

Green Chili Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
I am eating leftovers right now of this and it's still delicious. Husband approved, this will stay in my regular recipe rotation. To me it's like enchiladas without the work of rolling them up! Easy, quick, I made the recipe as-is and we loved it! Yum!
