My Mom's Swiss Steak

I followed a reviewers suggestion and used some beef broth so it would have enough moisture to cook. Turns out that was way too much. Next time I think I will only use a quarter cup. I do love the taste I must say. It's been more than 20 years since I've had Swiss steak and this is a great recipe to follow. Also, I had some boxed "potatoes al gratin" that needed to be cooked so that was the side. Hope Mike likes this.

Grandma Jeanette's Amazing German Red Cabbage

This was so good. Mike and I ate extra helpings. Liked that there was still a little bit of crispness to the cabbage. Mine had got totally limp after 1 and a half hours of cooking. The flavor was delcious with the Saurebraten I made for dinner.

this is easy! And, everyone that has ate it definately likes the recipe. Forgot the lemon zest and was still so appealing.

Turkey Potato Tetrazzini

More like scalloped potatoes with chicken than the tetrazzini recipes I'm use to. But, still very good. Should probably cook about 50 minutes before removing the foil. And, I used 3 cups of Swiss cheese and the entire container of shaved parmesan and 2 jars of alfredo sauce. The cheeses got so good and crusty. The flavor was truly excellent. Just seemed strange with NO pasta. That's the reason for my 4 star rating. Flavor is excellent for a winter night. Made for the first time December 30th, 2011.

Old-Fashioned Potato Soup

only used 4 potatoes. Next time I will make sure to use all 6. Nice flavor even without the seasoning it called for. Did have whole peppercorn to crush.
