I didn't have any Russian-style salad dressing, so I left it out. I also didn't have lemon juice, and substituted orange juice instead. I also used smashed-up crackers in place of the bread crumbs. I even forgot to add the egg (somehow) and it still managed to come out wonderfully! I followed one review and cooked the squash in the microwave to begin with, starting with 5 minutes. My advice would be to minimize the time to 3 minutes depending on the power of your microwave, because though it was a lot faster than baking, the squash literally started to tear and fall apart.
